I know most Thais put up buildings all the time without getting approval from the Or Bor Tor. I plan on building a house on land we have owned for years but I would first like to make a small 4 x 6m shed with roll up door for storage away from the house build site. Does this need plans and permits from the Or Bor Tor?

Impossible to say, where we live nothing needs Or Bor Tor approval,  6km away everything does. Go to the Or Bor Tor and ask or check with the village headman.

I think @sometimewoodworker has it, talk to your village headman first.

 

We've put up all sorts of outbuildings without asking and nobody has batted an eye, but that's all been done after the house was built.

 

Just build it!

Advice:

We're on our fourth "shed" now! 

First, for generator and storage

Second, for laundry and outdoor kitchen

Third, for 3 wheeler motorbike parking

Fourth, for plant nursery

Fifth, waiting for Madam's next project!! 

 

A high level expert with TCA told me no permit needed if no people live in it. No bathroom, no pea meter

Since you already have a plant nursery, maybe consider one for babies..... ????
