PHUKET:-- Three Thai tourists from Bangkok escaped serious injury last night when the car they were travelling in struck a Toyota Fortuner travelling in the opposite direction on a small road near Mai Khao Beach last night (Dec 10).

Rescue workers from Mai Khao Tambon Administration Organisation (OrBorTor) and Phuket’s Kusoldharm Foundation were informed of the accident, near the Pru Ja-San lake, at about 8pm.

They attended the scene with Tha Chatchai Police to find the Phuket-registered Toyota Fortuner and a Toyota Camry facing opposite directions, both with heavy damage to the front right wheels.

Judging from the photo, which can be deceptive, the Fortuner could have driven further to the right.

Can't help but think that with about 70 dead on the road a day, nobody dead in this collision and nobody apparently so badly injured that they needed to stay in hospital, this is a bit of  non story - news must be slow today. I guess up tomorrow 'Man falls off Push-bike !'

The 3 wheels left on it will be enough to kill someone on the return journey back to BKK all is not lost ????

No mention of a driver in the Fortuner - autonomous vehicle?

No headlights? Are there streetlights in the picture I can see? Is the road not wide enough for 2 vehicles to pass safely? Dang. No one hurt, and this his news because no one was hurt?
