BANGALORE (Reuters) -A blackout affected Alphabet's services including YouTube, Gmail and Google Drive on Monday, affecting thousands of users around the world.

This outage was detected at 7:00 a.m. (12:00 p.m. GMT), Google said, adding that its services were restored for some users.

“We are aware that many of you are having difficulty accessing YouTube - our team is working on it,” the video platform YouTube said on its Twitter account.

According to the DownDetector site, more than 12,000 YouTube users are affected by the blackout, particularly in the United States, Great Britain and India.

My gmail didn't work at all today about 19:30 - I couldn't logon.

And maybe 20 minutes later I could logon but I saw a message in red that there might be a problem with my contacts.

This is just for your information. I don't need an answer.

yep, everything seems ok at the mo

Works fine for me over VPN even a vpn Thailand but not with a direct connection over True Internet. mmm

Facebook had an outage a few days ago couldn't use messenger at all. I checked with my ISP in the UK who confirmed it was definitely a Facebook problem. HOWEVER after reading about this I wonder if something is going down. The big powers China/USA having a small cyber war perhaps an extension of the trade war they are conducting (I'm not a conspiracy theorist it's just that I'm a paranoid twit and everyone is against me)

It seems the snowflakes worldwide went into panic mode and millions had to immediately inform everyone about what was already known that the google services were down instead of waiting a short time until the service was restored.

What a world we live in now.
