Laos has temporarily banned the import of fresh and frozen seafood from Thailand after a new wave of Covid-19 infections erupted from Samut Sakhon’s seafood market.

Laos’s Industry and Commerce Ministry made the decision on Wednesday to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country.

The new measure is temporary and will stay in effect until both countries can confirm the products are safe and coronavirus-free.

Laos has increased awareness of the Covid-19 situation in Thailand and prepared a host of quarantine sites since Tuesday.

The guys transporting it can. That's how it's been spreading around Thailand.

There is some  suspicion about frozen or  refrigerated food packaging  potentially harboring the virus. Other than China claiming they have detected it on packaging I have not  seen any  overall confirmation  but it is accepted as possible. Eating food that may have it in/on is not considered a risk.

So far nobody seems to be afraid with the guys transporting stuff coming from Myammar

there is hundred (Thousands?) of trucks going through the border everyday, Myamar being the

main road for all the merchandises coming from India and China to Thailand and Cambodia

maybe they are confined\quarantined in their cabin truck all the way long ? Just curious...

There have been reports every now and then of trucks drivers from Myanmar testing positive. I think they're given a limited period of entry, maybe 7 hours I seem to remember? I'm not sure if it's random testing or they test all of them.
