All bars closed due to covid. Will your favourite bar open up again

Featured Replies

Is the New year covid closure of your favourite bar really temporary is will it be permanent? How many will survive the current lockdown? Will your favourite place reopen?

How long will the lock down be?

Maybe everything is allowed to open up again tomorrow.  ????

I'd say with the current roll out of vaccines we got about 6 months to wait for the early shoots of a return and probably next Christmas with a very gradual return to normaility

So a question of whether our favourite bars can last that long in reality. Some will but many wont

Nothing personal @Nout but it would seem better to keep it in one place. ????

I concur.

Just because the vaccine is been rolled out in western countries, that has nothing to do with ease of entry into Thailand, which has no real plan for mass vaccination.

I started this thread as I felt with the mass closures the other thread had not just become redundant but the subject matter is quite different. The old thread was about failing bars. This thread is about about bars surviving the covid close down. But this might be too nuanced for some people. Anyway I will rely on the discretion of the mods regarding whether to merge or not. But with every bar around me closed the once apposite question posed is currently irrelevant. Covid has made many issues irrelevant and others, that were not of great import- very relevant.

Many "bars" have restaurant licenses and serve food so can remain open for the moment.

But there is a feeling amongst those still open that in a few days all will be closed. Who knows. Possibly best to get out and have a meal and a few drinks while we can.
