BANGKOK (NNT) - The Prime Minister has urged members of the public to follow the COVID-19 prevention measures in each area strictly, while warning that negligence can be the cause of widespread transmission.

The Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said he is concerned with the reports of negligence and carelessness by some people in regard to the COVID-19 containment measures, which could increase the chances of widespread transmission of the disease.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has continued to increase in many provinces, with newer clusters being identified following visits to venues or participation in activities that are considered high risk.

The Prime Minister said all people are responsible for keeping their family and their community safe, by strictly adhering to the official regulations, which may differ between provinces.

Members of the public are advised to avoid being in close contact with other people, refrain from attending crowded events, wear a mask, practice social distancing, and frequently wash their hands.

The public is asked to cooperate with the body temperature screening measure at many places; install the Mor Chana application on their phones; scan a Thai Chana QR Code to check in and out of a venue or establishment on each entry and exit. People with suspicious symptoms should immediately seek medical attention before their condition gets any worse.

The Prime Minister said cooperation by the general public in acting on official regulations and announcements will allow Thailand to contain this new wave of COVID-19 transmissions efficiently.

I guess the original wording was 'Members of the public are advised to avoid being in close contact foreigners, refrain from attending crowded events with foreigners, wear a mask when near foreigners, practice social distancing from foreigners, and frequently wash their hands after driving past a foreigner at 120km if not wearing driving gloves.'

Corruption does have its problems now doesn't it.

Irrespective, it was the Burmese who crossed illegaly and the Thais from the Tachilek casino hotel who created all of this.

Lock the place down, this is getting out of hand in those 28 provinces.

Credit where credit is due

The Prime Minister said all people are responsible for keeping their family and their community safe, by strictly adhering to the official regulations, which may differ between provinces

Probably the best thing he is said. Goes to the heart of the matter governments can only do so much if people refuse to do the right thing, or think it's a joke or run with wild conspiracy theories then the world will struggle to get a grip on it.  Vaccine or not.

please wear masks, when you visit your local illegal gambling den

looooooooooooooooooooooool

anybody gets you need a mask in a shopping mall, except, you are walking around drinking / eating snack ?

What can i say, after all the garbage over the years that i've endured coming out of certain departments of the government i can only look on Thailand's current situation as i would look on my mother in-law driving over a cliff in my new BMW.......     I just hope when all this madness ends people don't forget the actions of those in power when the going got tough......... Blame, blame ,blame.......  disgusting.......  Mind you, it's only history repeating itself.......
