  • Sad times when people question the reliability of sites like WaPo.  And fall for the conspiracy theories on fake news websites.  Stunning.

  • I'm curious to know which excuse his supporters will find, this time.

First excuse: "it didn't happen."

Second excuse: lawsuits

Third excuse: I was just doing my Tony Soprano impression.

And he doesn't even want to be president.

he just wants the "prestige" of the office so that he can have the course all to himself

I'd hold off on judging the phone call until I heard the entire hour in context. Otherwise you fall into the same category as the dime-store pundits...

Not that I expect it to be much different but judging an hour long call on an edited 4-ish minutes is just stupid.

Enjoy!  https://us.cnn.com/2021/01/03/politics/trump-brad-raffensperger-phone-call-transcript/index.html

With each new criminal act 45 performs, and with law and order returning to the US on 20 January under a new AG, the odds 45 passes behind bars increases markedly.

The self-pardon will not hold up in court, and 45 is piling up the Federal charges by the day. Toss in the NY State charges, and the boy is in trouble.

Up until this new "prefect" phone call, I would have put odds he would stay out of jail. This was just one too many. Let's hope a just Attorney General is put in place. I'm sure there are plenty of conversations going on to put a "45-friendly" AG in office. Doesn't the Senate have to approve?

I find it quite funny following trump supporters who do not know what there stance on anything is until the Donald tells them.

Unfortunately for them this can change by the minute .

I think for many groups of religious people who lead there live strictly by there holy teachings rules do not change midway through each day

Trump is a non patriot, and a traitor to his nation and its people.

You will likely be remembered as the 44th or 43rd worst president ever. Just behind Buchanan or Harding. And you will be remembered for the massive number of failures on your watch. Hurricane Maria. Botched. The trade deals with China. Xi won your insane trade war, hands down. Trump was knocked out cold, 2 minutes into the first round. He simply does not know how to negotiate his way out of a paper bag. And he was likely outclassed by 60 or 70 IQ points. Which is not hard.

Trump is a man of deceit, foul play, and a man so lacking in compassion, character, allegiance, loyalty, kindness, generosity, fidelity, heart and soul. He is morally bankrupt. His ex associates know that. The thousands of small contractors who have sued him for money owed know that. There is no doubt that Trump is the opposite of a patriot, there is no doubt that Trump is a coward and a traitor, who will sell out  his nation to despotic dictators, and who will deny aid to faithful allies. Thankfully we have just a few more weeks left of this nonsense and then he will be in gloriously ushered out of Washington to a life of humiliation, a completely radioactive name that nobody in their right mind is ever going to want to touch, and a crumbling mini empire. That is just what he deserves, that is what he's worked hard for and that is something that the world will celebrate. There is no honor in his game.

1. The headline does say this is from the Washington Post.  That says a lot.

2. Where's the audio?

I wondered when you would pop up.

Just as your avatar portrays a caricature of everything that went wrong in the 'American War' (although Duval's portrayal was superb) Trump epitomises everything that is wrong with America 'politics' at the moment.

Rather than drain the swamp he continues to fill it.

The man is a LOSER, something he loves to accuse others of but can't grasp the reality of what he, in fact, is.

I take it you only accept mee-ja from sources that suit your agenda. FAKE NOOS,  FAKE NOOS

Hang around and I’m sure they won’t disappoint.

Just over four years during the election which Trump won, I (as a Brit) said to an American friend, "I'd like to see Trump win."

He asked me why?

I said, "Purely for the entertainment value." I haven't been disappointment yet, and there's still two weeks to go.

Thankfully Trump got this call in before Biden has decided on who he wants as USAG.

Oh I’ll bet lots of potential AGs are just licking their chops and rubbing their hands together in anticipation of locking this abomination up it just beggers belief I never in my wildest dreams thought we would have such a lawless potus or a senate that would not stand up to him incredible

That was a felony that Trump committed right there.  Hard to see how the Biden DoJ can justify giving him a pass on it.

watergate was nothing compared to what this guy is doing and yet Nixon had the guts to quit, this sore loser doesn't have the balls

And let's not forget: Over 74,000,000 Americans want(ed) 4 more years of the same.

This is what does baffle me, that so many Americans, with the world's worst death toll and case numbers by a country mile, could vote for the person who contributed to said numbers, in no small way.

Republican judges governors, attorneys general and secretaries of state are all conspiring to hide Trumps victory.  Makes sense to me.  Because, hey they aren't really republicans.  And democrats stole the presidential election but not any senate seats.  Sure, I can understand why they would do that.  Takes the suspicion off their master conspiracy to steal the presidency.  It is all so obvious!

I'm sure all the repub Senators and all the repub House Reps who insist the election was fraudulent will refuse to be seated in the new Congress, since their own elections must have been equally fraudulent.

I'd hate to think they are just cowards, hypocrites and clowns.

OK, so it's clear now he will issue a pardon to himself.

Man, he loves to swear, many bleeps.

Using profanities is a clear sign of a person lacking vocabulary and the abilty to clearly express and communicate an idea clearly, it is also reflective of a lack of education ( yes I know he went university, but that does not gaurantee an education of the ability to use it.

55555...it does take some serious detachment from reality to believe Trump's election fraud nonsense.  Like "they" managed to rig this election when each of the 50 states conduct their elections independently.  And "they" would risk prison time for election fraud when it's impossible to hide such a thing and rigging one state would not help, it'd have to be multiple state riggings.  And Trump's own gov, i.e., DOJ, DHS, CISA, not to mention election officials and governors in multiple states, as well as Trump-appointed judges, they're all in on it!  Lordy, my head is spinning just trying to understand how "they" managed to pull it off.

Even if he had won Georgia, those 16 votes would not have given him a victory.  Perhaps he has been making similar phone calls to the other states where he lost over this past weekend.

Carl Bernstein believes tape of Trump seeking votes from election official is the ‘ultimate smoking gun’

“This is something far worse than Watergate. We have both a criminal president of the United States in Donald Trump, and a subversive president of the United States.

"In any other presidency,” said Bernstein, “this tape would be evidence enough to result in the impeachment of the president of the United States, his conviction in the senate of the United States, and really an immediate call by the members of congress, including of his own party, that he resign immediately.”"

But his neighbours at Mar-a-Lago do not want him under local laws , and the WH lease is up for renewal, hope Melania lets him back into the NY address, or he might have to go the kids place for few weeks
