Ah, Thailand. You have overtaken America as the land of the delusional. There are golfers, and there are rich people. Expecting a combination of the two species to flood your golf resorts is a big ask. Then what happens to your regular members and patrons?

It would be interesting to know which politicians/army generals/police chiefs are the owners of these golf courses ....

  • very sensible, yet another good decision by the authorities.

I just told my mum and dad of this news. They are keen golfers, live near a golf course. They also come to Thailand during the Aussie winter for 3-4 months per year.

Mum is already looking into it. I have played golf with them a few times in Thailand and they love it with the caddies and service. Siam Country Club probably their favorite.

A really good idea from the Thai authorities allowing a more enjoyable quarantine period while also keeping the local population safe. I suspect the Koreans will also take this up in big numbers. Other countries will probably copy it.

Hoping if they get vaccinated in March April, they might be able to come from July-October.

That is only 10,000 per day for golf, 3 meals per day and accommodation.
Quite reasonable.

They keep them away from the regular patrons, not hard to do on a golf course.

looking at that room...  I’d estimate...

15,000 baht (1000 per night)

15,000 baht (3x 5000 baht covid-19 tests)

7,500 baht food (est 500 per day)

2,500 baht transport (van from airport)

Total 40,000 baht

Remaining 50,000 for golf:

Thats about 3570 per round of golf (based on one round per day).

It’d be great to have a ‘Golf Quarantine’ - but it still looks to be a lot.

I would expect green fee’s on a normal day at these courses to cost about 1500 baht including carts.

Think you left out the hospital fee for their employee's coming to the ASQ and then returning to the Hospital as well as the cost of the PPE's that they will be wearing that you must also pay for.  All inclusive costs.....just saying

Can they wear a French maids uniform on the course, just asking for a friend

So, I called the courses from online info.

Mida said it is 116,000 b.  Caddie optional.

After the first day you are tested with results in 24 hours.  After that, your are free to play, eat, and roam the premises it is locked down only for ASQ golfers.  First booking date is Jan. 30.  Then a second date of Feb. 14.

At Blue Star some dude answered and when I asked he laughed at me and hung up.

Sawang said they know nothing at this point and have a meeting scheduled.

Evergreen could provide no details on their plans for this.

Also, Artitaya near Nakhon Nayok no habla English they hung up on me.

And, like I posted yesterday Artitaya Chiang Mai told me they are not doing ASQ.

So who knows, it appears the only course that has a definite plan at this point appears to be Mida.

Is that for golf and accommodation?

Fair enough - adding that and running with a few guesstimates on costs etc...

Nurse: 24 hr cover - 2 shifts Salary 20,000 each per month:

40,000 per month total

Assuming 20 guests - thats 1000 baht nurse fees for 15 days Quarantine

PPE: Slicker / hazmat suit: 200 baht each (10 staff per day) - 2000 baht per day PPE costs

Assuming 20 golfing guests - thats 100 baht per day - thats 1500 baht  PPE fees

Mask Negligible

Transport costs for Staff (that would usually be in the room rate)

Transport costs for Nurses - best: 500 baht per day per nurse.

Assuming 20 guests thats - thats 50 baht per day / 750 baht per Quarantine

---------

15,000 baht (1000 per night)

15,000 baht (3x 5000 baht covid-19 tests)

7,500 baht food (1st 500 per day)

2,500 baht transport (van from airport)

1,000 baht for Nursing costs

1,500 baht for PPE

750 baht for nurse transport

1750 baht for others miscellaneous costs

Total 45,000 baht

Remaining 45,000 for golf:

Thats about 3215 per round of golf (based on one round per day / 14 days of golf).

Its still seems to be quite a lot for a golf course that would normal charge 600 baht green fees (800 baht at the weekend and 600 baht per buggy)...

So.. for quarantine golf it would appear they are charging a surplus of 2000 baht per round.

Costs for medical support (tests, nurses etc.) run at around 12K Bht.

Someone has to make some money off of the ASQ's, how else can the Government report 1 billion Thb in profits made.

Salerno the 90k "from" price is a reasonable drop from the 115/6k quoted in earlier posts direct from Mida golf course.

Do you know what the person who is quoted at the bottom has to do with the course - if anything?

Also I seem to remember now that caddies are not available.......

Indeed, but personally when I see "from" I always think it's marketing <deleted> and expect it to be another 20% minimum for something reasonable instead of a bare minimum basic package.

No idea to be honest, it was posted in the Thaiest FaceBook ASQ group I follow. Keeping an eye on the Thaiest golf ASQ pages on their main site to see what info they publish but for all the golf courses still just has "To be announced" for the quarantine packages.

still won't happen. The Oz govt isn't allowing anybody to travel outside oz for a holiday, and won't lift that restriction until C19 is under control worldwide. PLUS on top of that, even if vaccinated, they'll still have to jump through ALL the Thailand hoops of C19 insurance, COE's etc to enter Thailand. maybe by the end of 2022 they might be able to come for a holiday.

Update on Mida:

Mida Golf Club ONLY accept customer based on the SCHEDULED DATE: 30 Jan 2021, 16 Feb 2021 and 04 Mar 2021

  • Single Golfer Package 90,000-116,000 THB for 1 golfer (1 Room)
  • Family Golfer Package 164,000 THB for 2 golfer (1 Room)
  • 145,000 THB for 1 golfer + 1 follower (2 Rooms)
  • 136,000 THB for 1 golfer + 1 follower (1 Room)
  • 207,000 THB for 1 golfer + 2 follower (2 Room)

https://thaiest.com/blog/thailand-golf-quarantine-list

Still no details on the other courses.

I read that Mida golf quarantine is around 145,000 baht. Quarantine in hotel in Bangkok starts around 35,000.

100,000 more for 14 days of golf. Green fees at Mida are advertised now for 800 bht.

Did you bother to read any of the preceding posts (like the one immediately above yours.....) which have specific examples of costs for Mida........

My story is long, but I’ll keep this post short

I did ASQ quarantine in August, in a cheapish hotel neat BKK Airport Siam Mandarina, I paid 42kTHB.

I stayed for 5 months, and then went back to work.

I’m expecting to travel back to Thailand April –May or June

And I’m 100% going to stay at an ASQ golf resort, being stuck in a room for 15 days is not much fun, I know its going to cost me double but I don’t care.

Hopefully the UAE will be added to the Low country list soon.

I'll repost with more info when i have some.

  • 4 weeks later...

Do we have a list of websites to make a enquiry for the golf quarantine, so far I’ve only found one GolfAsian.

Are the bookings completed by contacting the actual Golf course or through a Goverment ASQ website (which is same as hotels in the beginning

Counry list is now 61, I got an message from golf Asian

The prices seem to have stabilised

https://www.golfquarantine.com/packages

2 courses are for group, and the other 4 are now priced from 110-120 for single loom golfer only
