Officials have explained that the Phayao Northern Lake Hotel is only being used as a local quarantine facility and is under tight control after parents of a kindergarten nearby panicked over safety.

Provincial health chief Supachai Boon-Amphan said Phayao Northern Lake Hotel is being used to quarantine people returning from overseas for 14 days, not to treat patients.

He also said that not everybody quarantined is infected and quarantining them is also preventing local transmissions.

Sounds like a quote from Doc. Ganja! First there is not any different in treating patients or the ones in quarantine. If such thing is done, then the government and health sector must be able to provide nessessary protection for the surrounding community.

What this really sound disguised as is that they only quarantine returnees, and not the dirty and much more dangerous and infected foreigners.

They have created a "climate of fear", and are now facing the consequences.

Sounds nothing like that whatsoever, it sounds exactly like they stated - it's a quarantine facility not a treatment facility.

Has one single child died from Covid in Thailand? Has one even been seriously ill? If so, I haven't heard about it.

This baseless hysteria is more scary than the pandemic itself.

Ok, I still think it sounds like that. Maybe we just interpret things different.

That's exactly what it is. My girlfriend's brother stayed there when he came back from Phuket, back in April or May.

Amazing what exposure can do. Today the car park is closed. Patrolled by persons in  uniform. Parents used to park in there to collect their children from Anuban Phayao. There used to be food sellers in the car park. They have been now moved outside.
