Popular Post rooster59
Gambling: Police helped to move hundreds of slot machines, says RTP spokesman Image: Thai Rath A spokesman for the Royal Thai Police has admitted that officers at the Chok Chai station in Nakhon Ratchasima provided assistance in the moving of hundreds of video slot machines to a warehouse in Khon Kaen. The high profile bust on January 19th was part of a nationwide crackdown on illegal gambling dens amid the spread of Covid-19. Many have pointed to the active involvement of the Thai police in illegal gambling operations and this case will add fuel to that already considerable fire, notes Thaivisa. The admission about the involvement of the Chok Chai police comes from the same man who led the raid on the Ban Non Sawan, Phra Lap, Muang district godown where 418 brand new and fully operational slot machines were uncovered. The 40 million baht machines had been moved from Korat with the assistance of police said Pol Maj-Gen Yingyot Thepjamnong. A disciplinary investigation is underway and transfers at the discretion of the provincial commander could follow, reported Thai Rath. ThailandRyan
As I first said when I read the initial OP days ago, I said that someone had been given information about a raid and had moved all of the machines in order to hide them. Seems that The Plod moved them to save their gambling den and friends, but someone had a twinge of guilt and must have dimed off his bretheren....more inactive posts coming. I wonder if that is why the new Building at MTT was built, in order to house the inactive government folks....well done I say, crime does pay...

Popular Post Eindhoven
I think it is obvious to all that the ONLY reason why some things are branded illegal here, is to provide an income for public servants....or are they public servants? Maybe I have my terminology wrong. But I won't be correcting it, for obvious reasons.
Dionigi
The machine shown is a machine played by children in our local mall. Never seen an adult using one unless they bet on which player will win they are hardly gambling machines. Maybe have to ban xbox and playstation to clean up the country.

Lacessit
Hypocrisy writ large, about a week ago four women in the village were fined 2500 baht each for the heinous crime of playing cards. Every Thai I know thinks of the police as enemies.
Andycoops
Not surprisingly Thailand has fallen another 3 places in the world corruption table just published, despite Uncle Toos 7 years of rule in which he promised to end it all, ho, ho ,ho. Rotten to the core.

Exactly, Rooster. Always 'suspended' or 'transferred' - never an act of discipline resulting in true punishment or consequences that they are so willing to mete out to the Thai public and foreigners. Therefore, if never punished, but sent somewhere else - there is nothing to stop these individuals from just continuing as they did before. How can you have faith in an organisation such as the RTP? Whatever they do or say, is construed as lip service , paving the way for every misdemeanor initiated by them, to magically disappear! Disgraceful! And the buck goes straight back to the man at the top.
