Has anyone recently renewed Driving License in CM?

My 2 year bike driving license expired in December.

I waited until I got  my ED visa as my understanding was that I will be able to renew for 5 years instead of 2.

I just got ED visa.

Has anyone recently renewed DL in CM? What`s your experience? What documents or other things were requested from you?

I would be grateful if could share your experience, especially that their phone number is always busy.

Did you have to go through physical tests (eye sight, reaction)?

Any watching of "educational" video?

Or all voided?

No appointment needed?

Have you given a form to a doctor or they just have their onw medical certificate forms for driving license?

Just inform the reception "Need medical certificate for the Driving Licence"
They will do everything (we no need to bring any form)
We need to bring Money (Mostly 100 Bhat) & Passport only.

Renewed my 5 year car Drivers License last Tuesday.

Got Residence Certificate from Immigration through my visa agent. 24 hour turnaround.

Got my Medical Certificate at CM Bangkok Hospital. 40 minute turnaround.

Watched the 50 minute instructional video & got certificate at KW Driving School, Maejo. 80 minute turnaround.

Took all documents to DLT Hang Dong. Was given traffic light colour blindness test, all documents processed, fee paid, photograph taken & new DL issued. Total time 45 minutes.

Note that from next year older drivers will have to go through annual medical test & renewal process, but as I have now received a 5 year license this only commences when this license ends.

What was the fee for the ‘expedited’ residency certificate? Did you need an appointment at DLT Hang Dong? Thanks

Interesting... so if the address is mentioned in the work permit you don't need a residence certificate?

Unfortunately my residence isn't mentioned on my work permit so I would require the residence certificate which is a pain.

Yesterday I went Land Transport Office in Mae Hia and asked necessary documents and procedure for renew my driving lisence expired 3 monrth ago(I had been forced to stay my home country 10 month and came back CM 2 weeks ago).

Staff at the information counter passed me a simple answering paper.
