Popular Post rooster59
Eight-step vaccination process worked out by Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute Thailand’s public health ministry’s Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute (BIDI) has developed an eight-step process for COVID-19 vaccinations to be provided at hospitals across the country. Public Health Vice Minister Dr. Sophon Mekthon, in his capacity as chair of the COVID-19 vaccines management sub-committee, visited BIDI on Sunday to witness a test of the process, which will take 37 minutes from step one, when a person registers to receive the vaccine, until the last step when they can leave the hospital. The full eight steps are: 1. A person registers at a kiosk-style machine (to reduce contact) 2. The person’s weight and blood pressure are taken 3. Screening and background check 4. Wait to be inoculated Full story: https://www.thaipbsworld.com/eight-step-vaccination-process-worked-out-by-bamrasnaradura-infectious-diseases-institute/ -- © Copyright Thai PBS 2021-02-07 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

The full eight steps are: A person registers at a kiosk-style machine (to reduce contact) The person’s weight and blood pressure are taken Screening and background check Wait to be inoculated Vaccination, taking 5-7 minutes Wait under observation for 30 minutes. Doctors and nurses with resuscitation equipment will be on standby in case the injected person suffers serious side effects. All those who receive the vaccine are required to download the Mor Prom app to their smart phones for follow-up checks on the 1st, 7th and 30th day after the first dose, after which they will receive notification of the appointment for the second dose After the 30-mintutes of observation, nurses will ask about the patients’ condition, offer them advice and a pamphlet about vaccination before they return home Those who have received the second dose will receive a text message, via the Mor Prom app, confirming the completion of vaccination process
Popular Post gunderhill
I was hoping for a 14.5 point vaccination really and am very disappointed. 1 1
Popular Post Morch
I hope they clean the blood pressure thingie after each person gets tested. A while back had to insist on that as the guy before me had a rather nasty rash on the arm. Also, step 6 is again the smartphone/app issue - what about people who do not have one or do not use internet on their mobile devices?

Kind of a catch 22. As you said "freedom of choice in a nutshell", either damned if you do or damned if you don't. Wonder what the reality of us expats being able to que for the vaccine at the same time as the Thai's. In the US my mothers gardener, was able to get his with no issues, and he only has a green card. I would think that the first person to be bold enough to go on social media and let it be known that they had been refused a vaccination because they didn't own a smart phone will take care of this little issue. More likely Public Health officials will have already thought up a workaround in light of the previous outcry regarding Mor Chana. More and more nowadays, Thais are proving that they do have freedom of choice and a voice to go with it.

Caldera
Ordering vaccines and getting them delivered in the required quantities needs to come first though. Which is where the problem lies.

pseudorabies
IRL there would be four additional steps: 9. Take a seat and wait 10-15 minutes for medical report. 10. Take medical report to cashier. Scan barcode and get number ticket. 11. Wait another 10-15 minutes for number to be called. 12. Pay the cashier. Of course there are apparently several hundred (thousand?) steps involved with getting a vaccine approved and imported before any of this can happen anyway. newnative
All this tedious, detailed planning--pity no planning was done to actually acquire the vaccines, which should have been Step 1.

Partenavia
Clearly making it simple was never the intention. My first jab took 15 minutes, but then the GP surgery was doing 1000 per day.
Searat7
They need to develop a more efficient and faster approach when they start giving vaccines. Also a waiting period of 15 minutes after vaccine has worked out well in USA but we don’t have Chinese vaccine.
