Don't have a go at the victims of people-smuggling; have a go at the employers, customers and suppliers.

Stop buying British fruit.  Stop using British laundries.  Don't eat motorway cafe food.  Don't buy clothes manufactured in Britain...

Pay to keep the immigrants where they started.  Buy your fruit and veg, your clothes, your furniture or whatever  sourced in Bangladesh or Syria or wherever.

? these so called victims are the ones who ask these smuggling scum to get them to the land of Benefits..put it however you want mate they are illegal

What are you saying, immigrants have stopped the locals attending church?

He said " no church". They must have knocked it down, though I doubt that very much.

I wonder how many of the western tourists walking through Pattaya are married to Thai ladies??? Most are more likely going through many one hour relationships.

With drugs, we lock up the users and suppliers, not the drugs.

We should take the same approach with illegal immigrants

So, preservation then. That's excellent news.

It would be a shame for a church to be decommissioned, through the fault of the parish losing interest, and fall into disrepair.

Nice to see it being used and taken care of.

The reason it was decomisioned was because the whole area had stopped being British but was taken over by those from Pakistan etc it is now a total Muslim area, one where you would not dare go at night,40 years ago i worked there in a nice store ,days long gone ,now its an awful place .

You are claiming Dan O’Mahoney, is allowing asylum seekers to cross the Channel without hinderance - would you say that to his face? - thought not. Those caught crossing would be held in detention and subject to Covid mitigation / restriction as well as assessment of their refugee claims.

The dinghies are being escorted across the channel from France by the French navy and handed over to the British border force at the halfway point.
Did you hear Dan O'Mahoney speak out against that?

Ah multiculturalism at it's best, suffice to say there was a time in Australia that every time I tried to speak to someone in a government department they would be Indian, not that I am racist, but I don't speak Indian, "if you know what I mean".

What happened to the Australians in Australia?

Thank Buddha that Thailand has a stricter immigration policy than the UK. The last time I went to England, I stayed in East London and thought I had mistakenly flown to Bangladesh.

Are they all in Thailand?

illegal  means illegal  be it UK Thailand breaking the law ..get caught don't cry and set up a go fund me  ..my view

Usually, those in the UK illegally are, if caught, detained and if they do not appeal or lose their appeal they are returned (Home Office speak for deported).

This includes asylum seekers who lose their case.

The Home Office publish annual figures for the year ending March. How many people are detained or returned? are the latest.

As I understand it, what this measure is saying is that in order to protect the health of the public, illegal immigrants applying for the vaccine will not be sanctioned.

Of course, if they are caught by other methods, then that may very well be a different matter.

Most here legally don't, either. Until they have ILR; which takes at least 5 years to obtain.

For those claiming asylum. These are not illegal immigrants; unless their claim is refused and they disappear rather than leave.

Four star hotels? Since the first lockdown the government has put asylum seekers into hotels, hostels etc. rather than have them roaming the streets with the public health issues that would entail. They've done the same for homeless brits, too. Due to the demand caused, some of those hotels were four star.

Even without the pandemic, asylum seekers were given accommodation. A flat if they were very lucky, a hostel if not.

They also receive a weekly allowance of £37.75 per week for food, toiletries and clothes. (Source) Could you live on that?

They are going to come anyway; would you rather those who follow the rules and claim asylum be forced onto the streets to beg and/or turn to crime?

TBH... Simply... a rich country can afford to spend more, whilst a poor country find it difficult to be too generous.

Arrogance rides on a high horse... me, not siding anyone but stating a bare fact.

If anyone wants to give freebies that's fine... up to them, and entertaining illegals are also entirely up to them!

Absolutely, I don't understand the arrogance in your reply... but that's just you.

"...they should be put on a boat and sent back"

Agree 100%. Why tell me? You must tell "them"... please.

(illegals are cheap labour... just a point, why they are not sent back in a boat)

A very tricky question, indeed!

But, receiving a citizenship on a paper, is a bit different to been born a citizen in any country. Legally, yes, you are a citizen in country 'A'... but you can never 'equal' to a person born in that country. Your habits, thoughts etc will remain 'native' for a couple of generations... IMHO

I provided that link in a previous topic.

Unfortunately, there are those here who prefer to believe the self publicist Farage and others of the same politics instead of Dan O'Mahoney, the Home Office's clandestine Channel threat commander!

From your BBC link:
Dan O'Mahoney: "...France 'as committed as UK' to stop Channel crossings..." but no mention of stopping the secret 'handover' by UK and FR authorities revealed in Farage's video.
So he's presiding over a system where the French Navy and English Border Force liaise and ferry

them over on boats rather than turn them back and you post that as evidence he's not allowing

them over?

We all know that there large numbers of westerners living and working illegally in Thailand, many of whom teach English or run internet-based small businesses and use tourist visas or other types of visa obtained using fake documentation to stay in the country long-term. Or have simply overstayed by remaining in the Kingdom once their visa or LTE has expired.

Do you include them in the above?

Big difference, these illegals are adding to the economy.

There are a lot more illegal retirees here than English teachers. Personally, I know 7 who bought their visa from an agent, who bribes immigration officers.

By reflecting the makeup of your local British residents.  Back in the day, we had no idea of ethnic diversity, and believed that our Britishness was the only Britishness, but it turns out Scots and Irish and Welsh are British, and so are our "pakistani" and "bangladeshi" neighbours.

The whole point of threads like this, and the reason that they are so vigorously shilled, is to turn British people against one another, and it is sad that so many of our British co-posters do not realise that, and are so willing to denigrate their home country and its residents.

Everyone should be equal in front of the law, regardless of their nationality.

Everyone under law should be equal.

If you think otherwise, please state clearly who should not benefit from the protection of the law.

If you think some nationalities are not equal to others, please can you provide a ranking?
Please can you provide a clear set of criteria for ranking how British people are, other than their possession of a British passport?
Are people from Liverpool or Swansea more British than people from London or Ipswich or Lerwick?
Are pink people more British than tan people or brown people or red people or yellow people?

Are people with thick Geordie accents more British than people with thick Walsall accents?
Are you less British if you can speak Gaelic or French or Urdu?

To my mind, British people are British, an that is the end of it.

"alleged" rather than "revealed".

I expect that illegal immigrants are easier to track when they are handed over to the authorities rather than being allowed to land legally, and I think that it is commendable that the French re keeping us informed, rather than allowing migrants to leave EU waters and leave their realm of responsibility.

For all that Nigel Farage wants to stir up trouble for his own benefit, it seems that the grown-ups are doing their best to deal with the problem.
