There's method to the madness but it also saves the face of the Health Ministry. Imagine the private sector rolling out the vaccines before the government can! No no no, that would never be allowed.

Sounds to me like there's madness to the method.

I would call it poor purchase management.

We have to take it that gov' storage facilities are correct and proper.  Any private establishment would surely have to be checked and cleared prior to allowing them to purchase, store and administer the vaccine as part of a programme and not only sell it to the well shod.

I don't think the vaccine(s) should be allowed to become the object of a bidding war between the private hospitals.

Don't you think that those who do the checking and clearing of those private entities might have skin in the game?

I think if I spent my life thinking about who might be scamming who on what and what for I wouldn't be the relaxed person I am.

I'm only saying that one central distribution system that gets the vaccines to those who need it first is a better idea than allowing all and sundry buy it and use/sell it first pay first get. We're not talking about the latest smart phone here, we're talking about vaccines that save lives.

So simple statement.

I agree with not letting everyone buy it until those who really need it get it first.

If people want to post on here their theories on who is going to get benefits from what then carry on as 'you' wish.

I agree it should be a fair system of distribution.I too am relatively relaxed, especially about  a coup led administration being ranked 104th in the world for transparency and corruption.I don't like the chances of things being fair here anytime soon.

Good points. However this would mostly be a non discussion had the Thai government procured the necessary vaccines for the whole population instead of the miserable performance we've seen so far that creates anxiety and distrust with the ever changing statements and promises.

I often think about the posts that start on the lines of  'Don't you think' or 'surely you must realise' etc etc.

Don't you think it's a slightly disguised way of saying that you really believe you know what I'm thinking?

I do often wonder why people love to discuss politics in the bars etc.   Do they get a better nights sleep afterwards because they actually believe they have converted someone to their way of thinking.?

It's all on the same lines as the people who asked you who you voted for in the last uk election.

My only answer to that question was always 'that's for me to know and you to wonder about'.

Now appeares that private hospitals are barred from importing.
so local authorities won't be able to source any  vax.
that smells corruption to the highest level.

The rulers want only 2 vaccines, which will be fully controlled by them.
they refused indian ambassador offer.
They haven't joined an international program run by who.
The next they might be backing mahidol uni vax, over which they would have full control, including profits.

once again, the neo-fascist minister od health had his way, over the earlier government declaration
