Eddie, Its about 1,350 Km or about a 16 hour drive.

Surin Beach - wonderful place it is in in Phuket, Surin itself is a province about 400km North East of Bangkok.

BTW, Carabou is playing at the ThongTarin Hotel the same night of the party.

It sounds like a fantastic night in Surin.

Actually I've just rung the hotel and reserved the last 10 rooms

Sounds like it will be a great time. Wish could be there, but will be at the wife's family home at Nakhon Sawan. We live in Pathum thani.

Can still watch the Final though!

The best hotel is the Majestic, having recently stayed there with my half thai daughter,[now back in the UK] to use as a base for visiting relatives etc.

But my favourite was the Petchkasem. In fact at one time I regarded it as my second home. But those days have gone, with all the original staff, ie; Now,Kek,Jum,Prasert,Panee and more.

My first visit to Surin was way back in 72, were I married a beautiful and gracious local girl. We were together for over 25 fabulous years.
