What color of stain for kitchen cabinets?

Featured Replies

I need to replace some trim pieces on our kitchen cabinets. They are the dark walnut type commonly sold at Home Pro and other outlets. There are so many different stains I just don't know which one will match the closest.

Has anyone done this job and can recommend the stain they used?

Thanks

Dark walnut comes to mind....

Do you have a picture?

You might think about redoing all the trim such that it matches...

Usually very difficult to match, I bought one in UK that looked like a match and it came out much lighter. We just settled on the work surface being a different shade

You will probably never be able to get an exact match but a reasonable choice is to try with 5E32A87F-51BF-41B4-BF36-6DCBEF118439.thumb.jpeg.5887ea939a70feb64f6768fdeead4c5d.jpegthese on a sample piece to see if it comes close enough. You will need something over that, I often use a water based polyurethane.
