The Chinese are coming to the aid of Pattaya.

The resort - going through desperate times due to the pandemic - is set to get a massive cash injection from Chinese investors.

Yesterday at the Banyan Tree Hotel in Bangkok there was a signing ceremony between Luniq Real Estate headed by s Lu Meng and Banyan Tree Group's Ho Kwon Ping.

It was presided over by a beaming Phinit Jarusombat of the Thai Chinese cultural association.

It involves a 4.5 BILLION baht investment in the Skypark Lucean Jomtien project.

The more competition the better. About the project:

"... a 60-storey and 31-storey residential condominium with complete facilities, totaling 899 units, totaling over 4,500 million baht, fully equipped with standards and brand management SKYPARK (Sky Park), a world-class Banyan Tree Chain hotel. "

My heart goes out to the future generations of Thais, being sold out by this lot of *#*#*, better get those Mandarin lessons going.

Who is really to blame? Just now Tesco Lotus disappeared like before Carrefour. If Western countries don't want to invest here it is their decision. I miss Amazon, or something like Aldi, or...

Yes, they just do it out of love from a pure heart, and have no economical interests whatsoever.

The Chinese military industrial conglomerate does not just hand out money. They expect a transfer of control of assets and absolute obedience.

Where does it say this is a government company?  Doesn't seem to be a loan.

Chinese “investors” have a tendency of building overpriced condos in a country not theirs. That’s not exactly what i call helping ! Look how once charming Sihanoukville is nowadays destroyed with empty and overpriced condominiums.

Blame the Cambodia government for that. It's not happening like that here in Thailand. Snooky is a mess now.
