Well, this wasn't my idea. It's already been identified in the press that this is just one method of defrauding the lets go halves "scheme".

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Jurin Laksanawisit said the Ministry of Commerce has been receiving complaints of vendors participating in the co-pay campaign who allegedly priced their items higher than usual or failed to put up a clear price display in an attempt to receive a bigger payment from the government.

And yes, I agree that it is "sad.

Just one reason the minister (Commerce, Jurin) is in hot water.

You are perfectly free to believe what you read, wouldn't cross your minds that the complaints could have been coming from vendors who lost customers because they didn't join the scheme.

Some may be getting away with it but not to any great extent as the system is to a certain extent self policing. Completely different to the travel scheme, not every customer in a shop or stall will be on the scheme so any attempt to dual price will be a problem for the retailer in one way or another.

The only overcharging I have come across was on beer, 60 instead of 57, but that was not surprising as they were not supposed to sell alcohol under the scheme.
