March 1, 20215 yr Any recommend on where to get the covid test and fit to fly completed from same source and time before flight departure from thailand to save on running around to different places, also what’s the lead time on obtaining the certs when departing UK for thailand towards the end of last year I made the mistake of not requesting my fit to fly at the same location and same time as my covid test was taken, the facility would have provided both, but they couldn’t give the “fit to fly” after I’d returned home after the covid test was done, I used the Gogodocs service which was provided over the phone.and worked well anyway thanks in advance for any advice,
March 1, 20215 yr Where are you going that requires a Fit to Fly certificate? Not many places do. Dr. Donna is recommended a lot on here - Google should find her.

March 2, 20215 yr Dr Donna's MedConsult all the way for anything health. Her Fit to Fly was only 400 baht, a fraction the cost of Gogodoc and anything else. PCR testing in Bangkok, got my result same day and they seemed the best offer around. They also do some kind of Antigen test that you can get back in less than 6 hours if that's accepted by your destination
March 2, 20215 yr Sorry to appear as though I've been under a rock, but it's a fast changing scene....if you depart Thailand, is it possible to come back to Thailand now with 14 day ASQ? I am a foreigner on a Extension of Stay based on retirement. Not sure whether I qualify now. Also, are there any flights to Hong Kong? I understand it's a 3 week quarantine there right now.

You qualify - you will have to apply for a Certificate of Entry and meet other requirements including insurance (up to US$100,000 which covers covid) and have ASQ etc.. (lots of info in other threads on this). If you depart Thailand while on an extension of stay, be sure to get a re-entry permit at the airport when departing. Flights to HK... Google is your friend, see whats flying today, don’t book anything too far ahead of time as things change, including the political situation in HK.

Given Non-O retirement holders now need the 400K inpatients / 40K outpatients to get a CoE to return to Thailand, some guys might be better off not getting a re-entry permit, letting the Non-O be cancelled by exiting without one & coming back on a Tourist Visa (Or Visa Exempt) then converting back to a Non-O in-country. I know that's what I'm thinking of doing if my insurance company won't add the 40K outpatients to my existing health insurance policy (It's the "Visa Friendly" one from Pacific Cross so covers the $100K Covid insurance requirements but I elected not to have Outpatients cover).
March 2, 20215 yr I have a non-B. I don't plan to leave until the 4th quarter, but have to prior to end January 2022 to retain my Right of Abode in HK.

Presumably you only need a Certificate of Entry if you don't have a Re-entry permit? Covid insurance is for everyone, including those who have an Extension of Stay based on Retirement, (non-B visa)? I expect all of these requirements will change again in the coming months, when indeed vaccination of people living in Thailand will have exceeded the 45% of population predicted by the end of 2021, (according to the article in Nikkei).

Let's hope it has improved with the next 9 months, despite the prediction that only 45% of the Thai population will have been vaccinated by the end of 2021.
March 3, 20215 yr If you have a flight booked to leave Thailand and return to your country and a negative test is required and you stopover in BKK the night before for this quick test and email certificate, ........what would happen if you were asymptomatic and the test came back as positive? Would you find the police and medics at your hotel door waiting to immediately escort you to an expensive hospital of their choice or a migrant worker field hospital or could you pick your own government hospital. Are their any set procedures for this worst case scenario.

If you get a fit to fly certificate included with your covid test for the same price fine , don't let them charge extra for it. Fit to Ffy certificates have been around for decades. Only Thailand requires fit to fly for normal passengers. Not sure why. The actual uses are for late stage pregnancy, extremely seriously ill looking/patients who must travel with assistance, and like recent accident victims in casts and splints who need to prove they can sit up properly for take off and landing etc. I have flown many such passengers even with stretcher kits installed.

One does not need a fit to fly certificate to exit Thailand. No airline or country that I know of requires a fit to fly certificate for normal passenger to board. Don't confuse this with a covid-19 test requirement.
March 4, 20215 yr Ok I ask again maybe someone knows. Ok you book a flight to return Uk which requires you to have a negative covid 19 test within 72hrs check in. You go to Bangkok the day before and use the service covid test as mentioned in this thread. Worst case scenario you are asymptomatic she emails you a positive test result! What happens next are you tracked to and met at your hotel and dragged off to a Bangkok hospital without any choice to be incarcerated until negative at huge expense in a private hospital or could you get treated at a more reasonable priced option such a Chulanagorn university government hospital. Maybe such information is highly classified?
