BANGKOK (NNT) - Laguna Phuket is to lead a public-private collaboration, to drive the island’s tourism recovery, with the 19 day “Revive Hahaha Festival”, to be held from 31st March to 18th April. The event will include sport, music, cultural and community events and will target both Thais and expatriates nationwide.

Looking to boost Phuket’s economy and spur domestic tourism, the Laguna Phuket “Revive Hahaha Festival” offers something for everyone, and there will never be a better time to visit the island. The Andaman Sea and beaches are pristine, the air is clean, the environment is safe and its people remain as welcoming as ever.

“Phuket is ready to welcome tourists from all regions of Thailand,” said Phuket’s Deputy Governor Pichet Panapong. Songkran is a popular time to travel and spend time with family and friends. The 19-day festival offers a unique choice of activities and events, and is expected to draw an influx of domestic tourists to the island, which is also sure to benefit Phuket’s tourism based economy.

“The event will boost domestic tourism and showcase Phuket as a unique and inclusive holiday destination” said Ravi Chandran, Managing Director of Laguna Phuket. “Measures have been put in place to make sure that each event venue strictly adheres to high safety and well-being standards, ensuring that the festival will not only be fun, but also safe for everyone.
