Thailand reported 78 new COVID-19 infections as it tries to bring under control a fresh outbreak centred around Bang Khae Market in Bangkok

After reporting 172 cases on Sunday, health officials on Monday revealed 78 new cases, of which 74 were local transmissions, while 4 were imported from people entering quarantine.

However, a further 80 people were discharged from hospital having made a full recovery.

684 people remain in hospital or held in a migrant worker quarantine centre.

1 new death was also reported.

Monday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 27,005, with 87 deaths.

Better go buy a new lottery ticket ending in 87, as my one with 86 is now not a winner....well maybe not.

Wonder when all of the tests from the Ban Kae market locations will be finalized to see what the numbers there are in totality as they are still awaiting the results.
