As long as your licence is valid,written in English, has a photo on it and is valid for the category of vehicle you want to drive(car or motorbike) they should allow you to convert to a Thai license  just by doing the simple eyesight and reaction tests and presenting a medical certificate, no need to do the theory and practical tests.

As above posted by " johng" correct.

If OP's Irish DL is in English his good to go to the local DLT.

No need to take photos they take them at the DLT and you get 2 year DL the first time now.
