That’s a pretty simple one to answer for anyone that knows anything about Thailand. The hospitals here are simply a money out and make billions per year in profits. The more problems people have the more the hospitals make. Hospitals on the whole, here in Thailand, aren’t interested in people getting better, they’re simply interested in making money.

Flew AirAsia a few days ago to Nakhon Phanom province from DMK. 

No documentation required except when booking online had to tick a statement about not having any covid symptoms etc.

Normal masking,  gel and temp checks on departure and again on entry into the arrival terminal here.

'Thai experts' might be puzzled, I'm not. I recall being shouted down by the TV intelligentsia when the phrase one numbers came out and shared what appeared to me to be an almost impossibly low infection and death rate. I thought then and still think now that the testing regime was seriously inadequate, and that the government was almost certainly going to be found out about it. But no, I was called a pessimist and assured that it was down to the brilliance of that nice Mister Prayuth., no matter how out of character that might have been.

 

I still think there is something seriously wrong with the  testing regime in TL and that this is why the infection and death rate have been so low. I confidently expect to be called a pessimist again, though, I guess we'll see.

 

I fear that COVID-19, in one of it's forms is going to be rather more serious than is commonly accepted. I guess we'll see about that as well. Fingers crossed eh?

i is well know that h mutation are wandering around and that asymptotic people spread. this can even been people who are vaccinated with with the covid jab. Well known and well document in the medical world around the world and the literature. Problem is the politicians not want to understand this at all. The best solution is to shutdown all, isolate and make blocks and then wait minimal 40 days before opening block by block. This has been proven many times that this works. Put a ban on traveling. Put a ban tourism. Vaccinate as much as possible in a short as possible time, all people. in three to sixmonthn all is solved. when you have enough vaccine. and the block they control the outbrake and help to stop..

If that was actually the case, they should have closed the roads at all provinces adjacent to Bangkok and locked them in.  It's almost as though they want Covid to spread.
Instead:
"We gently and nicely recommend that maybe you stay home and no travel this Songkran, but if you really, really need go you have a safe-safe trip to your home province. No spit.  No litter.  Good luck you stay alive on road. 

In the meanwhile:

No go to drink at bar or pub.  Covid spread in bar and pub.
Ok go to eat at restaurant.  Ok go to drink at coffee shop.  No Covid in restaurant and coffee shop.  Covid like alcohol.

No go to get massage.  Covid spread in massage shop.
Ok go to get haircut.  Ok go to get hair make beautiful.  No Covid in barber or hair dresser shop.  Covid like massage oil.

No splash water.  Covid spread in splash water.
Ok to pour little water on shoulder.  No Covid in cup of water.  Covid iike bucket water, no like cup water.

I find it interesting that the elite 'leaders' seem to target any and all businesses and activities that make people feel good.  This will be the hallmark of the future I'm afraid.  I pity kids and young people as Covid and the next promised pandemics will keep the masses locked in place with all entertainment essentially banned in a semi-permanent prohibition, especially rolled out during holidays, of all these things that the humans in the past have considered to be fun.  The elites ;leader' have a very dark, grey futuristic view for the rest of commoners and little people. 

Welcome to the New Normal.  Fun is now banned.  But if you live in an epidemic zone, it's Ok to travel anywhere you want in the country.

You are wrong, the proportion of covid cases in China to the population is inconsistent with a pandemic, less than 100K out of nearly 1.5 billion. Infection was very localised in China with nearly 75% of cases in just one province.
