The Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand (ACT) Secretary-General, Mana Nimitmongkol

 

The Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand (ACT) Secretary-General has called on the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), the ombudsman and the ethical standards committee to investigate politicians and government officials who recently visited an entertainment outlet in Bangkok’s Thonglor area, in violation of current disease control measures.

 

Mana Nimitmongkol said in his Facebook post on Saturday that their visit to a well-known Thonglor pub has been blamed for contributing to the spread of COVID-19 throughout the country.

 

He said that such behavior by officials and politicians was not the first of its kind, citing the boxing cluster related to an army-run stadium in the Ramintra area, which was blamed for the first outbreak, with the second wave originating in Samut Sakhon among illegal migrant workers from Myanmar and illegal gambling dens in Rayong and Chon Buri provinces.

It's because they they don't enforce social distancing.  

If they kept both fighters six feet apart none of this would have happen. 

Hands up everybody who thinks nothing will happen. Not altogether please as harmonic motion could well destabilise the government gravy train.

So they are going to probe politicians/ officials over their involvement regarding  the Thonglor covid cluster.

What would be the point in that? No way would the probe come up with anything anywhere near the truth, it will just be a load of hogwash.

One might suspect that the Govt will soon decide this guy has outlived his usefulness.

Those same Politicians are the ones that decide what the NACC can or cannot 'look into' !

I am absolutely amazed at the high level of inefficiency of this Government, at the incredably slow procurement of vaccines (but not so for MPs!), the inaction at this latest outburst and complete lack of leadership in implementing measures to counter this dangerous spread and failure to take legal action against those responsible for the spread.

 

If I die of Coronor Virus infection, I will sue the Government!?

this is legally not a subject, just ethically not right (but not wrong).  someone wants to stir it into a political storm in the tea cup ?

Despite this plethora of august people, Thailand is a byword for corruption and lack of ethics.

The investigation is already complete; two underlings have been thrown to the dogs - case closed.  No action to be taken against politicians who flouted the rules they want the rest of us to live by.

The two top sources of blame are Prayuth and Anutin. It all goes back to Samut. If they were not scared of the optics of a lockdown, none of this would have happened. Cast blame where it belongs, on the big fish, for a change. The 3rd wave stuff is all nonsense, meant to deflect. They know how guilty they are.

 

Resign now. Admit you are in way over your heads, and always have been. Get out now!

The real problem is, they will not go after these guys. Not the top bankers, not the high ranking guys, not the provincial authorities, and certainly not the army, or the police. They are all corrupt beyond imagination. And the level of corruption simply escalates, the further up the food chain you go. They police and army are not expected to be honest, and they are not expected to engage in law enforcement, traffic or public safety, on any level. It is an irrevocably broken and dysfunctional system. Any hyperbole to the contrary, is just a smoke screen, intended to deceive the most naive amongst us.

The Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand (ACT) is one of the most feeble and ineffective of all the tools Prayuth has used to deceive the people into believing that he is fighting corruption. Who was the last high level authority, in the police, immigration, the army, or the active administration they arrested, charged, tried convicted, and sent to prison? Nobody. Zero. Nunca. Nada. Why? Because Prayuth has had a mandate from the beginning to do the very opposite. To protect the elite, the super wealthy who are guilty, those that are connected, and those who are in power. Just think Dark Tao. Just think Red Bull. The list goes on, and on, and on. Only the most naive amongst us believe he or ACT secretary-general Mana Nimitmongkol are sincere about this.

Another probe heading nowhere.

It is a well known fact that Thai-conducted probes never penetrate very deep because the probed channel is usually blocked by wads of cash as well as a general stone-walling among a certain population demographics that eschews any probing attempts altogether.

Maybe they mean an anal probe ?  Even then 50% will enjoy it no doubt

They are probably not going to investigate anything. The ACT is only a private foundation (which has been friendly to the Junta). They are calling for the NACC to investigate, which doesn't necessary mean it will. But you are right, in case the NACC would investigate, there's not much to expect.
