Popular Post webfact
Picture: Thai Rath Thai Rath had a feature that suggested foreigners - especially potential Chinese and Russian condo buyers - were desperate to come to Thailand to snap up property. They wanted to make Thailand their "second home" they suggested after a survey was carried out. When the Covid-19 situation in the country was sorted the floodgates would open, they reported. They had a picture of an unidentified westerner with wads of dollars. Some restrictions have been eased and incentives are in place with the hope that foreigners will bolster Thailand's lagging real estate sector especially in tourism places like Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Phuket as well as the Thai capital Bangkok. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-05-24 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1

Popular Post Surelynot
I would imagine this is quite true.....for anyone with the cash they must be eying opportunities here......advertised prices might stay steady but negotiated prices must be way down. 9 3

Popular Post internationalism
looks like some propaganda spin to the survey reported today. I do remember TAT estimate of 6mln brits visiting thailand in 2021. 2
Popular Post DirtyHarry55
Know quite a few Expats who were forced out because they couldn't meet the Visa requirements even though they had family and or property here. My advise is sell up and rent you never know when this government will change the requirements and kick you out. 61 3 5 13
Popular Post DLock
If they were that desperate, they would do the 14-days and get ahead of the pack. There will always be some demand, but I'm not sure "floodgates" will necessarily open... 19

Financially it might be a good investment, but there are so many unknown factors that come into play it certainly isn't a "sound" investment..........politically unstable, financially unstable, changing laws, anti-foreign (or anti-farang) sentiments..........and tied to a property you might not be able to sell.............renting is a no brainer. 7 2

Always depends where you buy, one of mine has doubled in price in 15 years, didn't initially buy it as an investment, rather somewhere to live where I liked and not to throw away money by renting. Having your own condo to live in also keeps you off ' the landlord wont pay back my deposit, what shall I do?' threads. ???? 9

Surely if they could afford to own property here they'd have no problem paying a visa agent to help them out. 12 2

If you don't qualify, you simply go to an agent and pay 20,000 baht for a year. I don't believe anyone with property here is going to leave for visa reasons, they are so easy to get here.l 8 1

Popular Post MRToMRT
Oh goody!!! They can buy my place then I can get the hell out of here again. I am as far from "anti-Thai" as you can get, but I am so ingrained in what Thailand was like before that the newer version doesn't quite do it for me anymore. I will miss it but for everyone who leaves at least two will replace us. 7 2
