Hats off to the French.

Mind you it's just salt into the wound for this down trodden Aussie lad. Hoping in vain that his useless Oz embassy would ever step up to the plate

I sent an email to my local MP in Australia stating the benefits of returning citizens being vaccinated, one being the low chances of infection and causing lockdowns from virus escape from quarantine hotels.

And you reckon he swallowed it?

Bit harsh. I was one of the folk stating that it would not work and that they were grandstanding.

And now (above) am more than happy to applaud them.

I see my post has attracted over 100 laughing Emolji which should be amusing but is in fact very sad that so many have such a low opinion of the British gov and their general lack of concern for their citizens overseas.

So much for the "How could it be done?" argument.

Easy, import the vaccine and pay Thai hospitals to administer it.

I will gladly pay for both the vaccine and a cover charge for the Thai hospital.

"a cover charge for the Thai hospital." How long does it take to administer the vaccine, about 2 mins? A profit of at least maybe 3000Bt.

So 2 mins of the hospitals time for each French person, so in one hour, about 50 people vaccinated.

So at least 150,000Bt profit in one hour for the hospital.

There will be a pre-vaccine check by a nurse of BP, temperature, weight etc, as there always is in Thai hospitals.

It's a baseline but probably way off if they go by the number of people who register with their embassy OR if they try to pull the data from Thai immigration (if that's even possible).

Seriously, the British Embassy should get off their backsides and arrange something similar for UK expats.  You might think that they would be shamed into doing something but I guess that the chances of anything happening are slim to none!

I am currently in the Philippines and the local government has arranged for all people over 65, local or foriegner and priority vaccinating free of charge in a well conducted program for which I am extremely grateful.

It is the Australian government that is a disgrace , not the Embassy
