The online booking form for Immigration in Bangkok will be down for the foreseeable future

The online booking form for Immigration in #Bangkok will be down for the foreseeable future while they improve the system. This follows the data breach I reported ten days ago. It should be fixed before 19 July, when it becomes compulsory to book online for more services.

I found out it was down when I tried to change my original booking (Non OA retirement extension) to this coming Monday. I can still just do walk-in on Monday, right? Or would that be taking a chance on a long wait since I would not know how many slots had already been booked on Monday?

Keep in mind that appointments is a relatively new thing. You will be able to walk in.

Having said that Monday can be a busy day. I would go mid week.

If these "improvement" works are being performed by the same lot who recently performed "maintenance" works on the 90-day reporting extranet, I would not be holding my breath on this deadline being met!

If the intention is only to harden the system against security breaches, it ought to be possible to cure the problem without bringing the system down at all. If, however, the database is totally corrupted, and they need to manually reenter all the data, then it is unpredictable how long the whole process will take. That may depend on the number of officials who can be assigned to the task of manually entering the data.

The utter incompetence of the people involved in Immigration IT is mind blowing. To adapt, translate and implement one of the well tested international booking systems should take around two weeks. Only Thai Immigration could manage to go live with an insecure system that subsequently requires time consuming and expensive remediation.

Previous given, existing online reservations will still be valid?

I assume they will be but you will need a printout of the confirmation email.

Check your spam folder for the email.

The printout should be accepted.

Which, in turn, could result in a state of chaos at CW/MTT if officials have to be redeployed to this task in significant numbers from processing extension of stay applications, 90-day reports (including the timely issue of mailed-in report notifications which is already a problematical issue at that particular office on the basis of countless recent reports on here), etc.

i was planning on doing my extention renewel on july 17.

do we just do a walk in now?

where will they anounce when the web site is back up?

Hello I have an online appointment for 10.30am...

Please join the queue with the other 40 people who have the same booking as you.

And if anything like my I.O. in the afternoon  when the morning 'rush' is over.
