Car/Truck Battery Heat Shield

Featured Replies

I notice the my truck battery very warm after a run. I heard heat makes battery have a premature death. Has anyone  installed a battery heat shield? They seem to be available in USA, usually reflective foil with a closed cell foam. Lazada doesn't such products. Does anyone know where I can buy a Toyota truck battery heat shield?

Who have you been listening too.

Had a GS heavy duty battery for over 6 years on a Vigo that got hot and sold it the truck and the battery was still reading strong.

Honda dealer batteries are cheap rubbish fact but Honda charge a premium price and gullible people follow suit.

Had a Toyota vigo first battery lasted 7 years .

Toyota Revo 5 years which with more electics draining power is fine.

Got a Ctek for the Honda after eating it way through 3 in 4 years and its seems to be doing better but time will tell.

Dont use it on the Revo as 5 years for a battery is fine in this climate.

Honda ones are the worst though but cheap

Gs batterys seem good.

If your battery is overheating it is probably due to overcharging or it's on it way out.

I usually get 2-4 years out of a battery here. GS has been my "brand of choice" but the last one I bought was actually branded Yuasa. As I understand it, both are now manufactured by the same company.

There are (as far as I know) no car manufacturers that produce batteries. There are a lot fewer battery manufacturers than you might think.

Some vehicles are prone to higher engine compartment temperatures. Not exactly luck of the draw but not something most people put on their must have lists.

Heat shield would only stop radiant heat. Oh and they will work both ways.

Thanks for the reminded to check my battery but I think I have a sealed one. Panasonic.

Yeah, if you have a turbo-diesel, your engine compartment is a lot hotter than is you have a non-turbo petrol engine.
