With so few vaccines coming in July I can assume they will mostly be taken by influential people with contacts within the government.

I wonder whats going to happen to the people who have a second vaccine scheduled?  Theres not going to be enough.

Al Jazeera this morning reported that the Delta has mutated into what they call the Delta+ mutation.

Even if it's only 7.5 million doses instead of 15 million, how many influential people do you beieve there are?

How about those still waiting to receive even a first jab or those who have been unable to even get on a registered waiting list for one?

The only reason they don't work is because the police don't enforce the law, !!!!!!!!

Take a look at the Australian lockdown model, it does work when strictly applied.

As you may not have noticed, it's not about hospitals being overrun per se. It's rather about there not being enough critical care beds. That's a far more serious issue.

Your wrong.

There out of beds.

It's not serious to you unless you need a hospital bed, per se.

So, it's not serious that all critical care beds are taken (apart from a few reserved for emergencies)? That if more covid patients than the system can manage need critical care it's not a problem?

Well perhaps this government will finally get what it's incompetence and corruption was surely only ever going to achieve. Massive infection of the rural poor that they and the elite have always despised.

Can you name any government in any country that takes care of the poor?

Don't you agree that most governments, if not all, are working for the "elite" and only do a bit cosmetic juggling for the poor?

The same elite that despises all those not being "elite".

COVID-19 infections are spreading, not just in Bangkok but in several other provinces as well,

From last night's "breaking news" in The Nation Thailand (27 June 2021) and not mentioned in today's TVF (yet):-

Over 450 Thai, Myanmar workers test positive for Covid-19 in Mae Sot

The number of Covid-19 cases in Tak Mae Sot district has hit a record on a single day after 452 of 840 workers tested positive.

This doesn't just apply to COVID cases either.  ICU beds needed for any reason are in this category.

And to think it's like this with lockdowns.  Imagine there are imbeciles who think that lockdowns aren't necessary.

The valid point you raise is that if one needs an ICU bed for any medical emergency, you'll die.

We haven't had a lockdown since April 2020. Would that the military despots had locked down over Songkran 2021. The mess we're in would have been much less severe than it is today.

We have UK, South African, Brazilian  and Indian variants of this original virus.....yet we never hear that, nor mention of China as the source of the original. That is some strange factor......

You mean Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta variants?

It's pretty clear that those variants were originally referred to where they were discovered because that's where they were isolated to when reported on (and variants were still new to the game).

Covid itself became a global virus while it took time for these local variants to traverse the world, which is why the former was merely known as Covid and the latter known as the local names at first.  And those variants are no longer known by those locales, for the right reasons

If it matters to you THAT much to you to go out of your way to try to injure China with the Wuhan moniker, a year and a half after this thing started, then you're lucky enough to have no other worries at the moment

Problem with that is the first jab is only 3% if they get the Chinese gunk and MORE importantly if the people that got the first ones don't get the second ones in time - and with no guarantee of numbers of vaccines coming -  they may need start vaccine program again as their time runs out for the second

It’s a little bit better than a <deleted> shoot atm, but not a heck of a lot better.

a friend was turned away from central mall Phuket vaccination centre two days ago, despite having an appointment. As were all others booked in. Told to come back the next day. And that’s in Phuket! Vaccination central for Thailand.

Haven’t heard whether she actually got her second jab or not, I’ll find out tomorrow. Man was she teed off. First jab she had to wait for 3 hours in a multi storey car park, no air con and lots of traffic fumes. Now this.

but Myanmar workers that register have to go to the vaccination centre at the airport. Another friend who runs a small coffee shop has two Myanmar workers and as soon as their nationality was entered on the booking system, the airport came up as the default location. And their coffee shop is in Rawai ????????‍♂️.

I’m sure that there is a good non racist reason for making all Myanmar workers go to the airport centre….can’t think of it off hand though.

well if you are going to have the ridiculous policy of anyone who tests positive has to stay in hospital for 2 weeks even if they have no symptoms . then you will be overrun.  absurd

They're in the process of changing that and are going to let people under the age of 40 wiith no symptoms self isolate at home.

This government is hopeless.

and hopeful that fear will distarct from their failures.

Of course their main function is to defend and protect the puppetmasters.

In democratic nations parties have to try not to upset the electorate or there will be consequences, not so much here, reincarnation will ensure a docile reaction.

Let's re-quote this:

And to think it's like this with lockdowns.  Imagine there are imbeciles who think that lockdowns aren't necessary.

Look and Learn, the travel bubble between NZ and Aussie has cracked after only about 2 weeks.

NZ news today" we may have dodged a bullet, apparently the person who sparked the outbreak in NZ and returned to Australia had, had one shot of a vaccine, that may have saved us" delta we are talking about."

Wellington at level2 lockdown still not out of the woods as yet.

Australia in lockdown, Delta spreading form one driver who drove an air crew to the Novatel hotel, he was not vaccinated, now the whole country borders in lockdown, Sydney in a total lockdown and the travel bubble suspended and looks doomed for now.

So with Thailand due to open and with Delta now circulating with over 600 cases a few days ago, hospital beds full and whoopee were all set to go!

Australia short of vaccine and saying we should have rolled out quicker and locked this one down sooner.

I'm afraid to say anything other than hope for the best LOS, but if Aussie is an example of how a travel bubble bursts and what they are having to go through now, due to Delta then it looks grim for the sandbox or the grand return of tourism .

Aussie and NZ are extremely worried about a Delta outbreak and Australia, says expect things to get worse in the next few days rather than better --Channel 9 Sydney News tonight.

Hold your breath if you can , a storm may be on the horizon.

They messed up already and now they have the consequences. Not enough vaccines, to late started with the vaccination, back working vaccines, delaying of more effective vaccines, the allowed travelling with Songkran, refuse to lockdown, as in Europe there was almost a lockdown for 6 months, Not serious ill people in quarantine in hospitals taking beds for ones who need them,  An Incompetent government , they think they are gods and know everything, making false statements to keep the people quiet, like reopen the Phuket Sandbox, which will be doomed to death,  and so on and so. We are standing at the beginning. It will be far more worse..

You forgot the flip flopping and denying vaccine procurement by the private sector, and not listening to medical experts.   Lying about the % GDP from tourism, no support for the out of work gals that made Thailand famous.  Of course they don't exist.   When the sand boxes fail I think people will be <deleted> that all those shots went to Phuket rather than the at risk people.  Using  Sinovac and calling 1 shot numbers as vaccinated just to rush in the sandbox.   The hate exists.   I'm just glad I saw and felt it my first few trips.

Just think of how bigoted you have to be to go out of your way to call this the Wuhan virus, over a year and a half after the fact

As far as I'm concerned the alpha virus originated in China.  Have you read about the miners several years ago who were collecting bat guano for the bat doctor, fell sick with respiratory illness, oldest died first, several died?   Have you read about the 3 Wuhan lab workers who went to hospital in December 2019?  Have you read about the Wuhan lab safely lapses that were documented.   Several parts of the lab had safety levels equal to a USA dentist office.   And that not much.   Open room with multiple work stations and even reception allowed.  1 air source, no filtering, carpet allowed.

Lockdown didn’t cure my bad back, so they certainly didn’t work there.

people forget what a lockdown is intended to do. Slow growth in cases to buy time for vaccines to be deployed. They are not a panacea for all things Covid.

If it didn't work then the "lockdown" isn't really one because it's not enforced nor the people abide by them. That's my point. I didn't say lockdown was the silver bullet for covid. But it's a useful tool if implemented well, to at least reduce the infection rate to a manageble number for the health system because it's quite obvious vaccination rate isn't nearly quick enough.
