Domestic Travel into Sandbox

Thank you everyone who replied!

We are back in Bangkok after a long weekend of much needed sand and surf. I thought I would write up our experience for anyone considering domestic travel to Phuket, but who might be worried about the Sandbox rules. Don't worry! Everything was quite easy.

At airport check-in, they will check your Covid test or proof of vaccine.

At the gate, there are QR codes and reminders to register with Go Phuget (we did ours from home and printed proof, no one checked it.)

Upon arrival to Phuket airport, they check covid test or proof of vaccine.

At the hotel, they asked for passports (of course,) proof of covid test or vaccine, and had us fill a health questionaire. We also checked in using ThaiChana.

After that, we enjoyed our trip. We used ThaiChana to check into restaurants and massage parlors, but as elsewhere in Thailand, it was kind of on an honor system, and outside of the massage parlor, it was not enforced.

A note on apps and registration:
Go Phuget - no one verified registration

MorChana - no one verified registration

ThaiChana and sign-in sheets - as elswhere in Thailand this is loosly enforced

AOT Phuket Airport - I had forgotten that the Phuket Airport has their own app that they want you to download. When we visited in March, we opted out of the app, and just wrote our names down. On this trip we bypassed it completely. I'd be happy to scan a ThaiChana check-in -- a separate application is unneccesary.

I hope this helps anyone thinking of visiting Phuket. The beaches are beautiful, it is not crowded at all, and the shops and restaurants are so thankful to have your business.

Cheers,

Greg

I guess it's about options.   The poster wants to come to Phuket for some beach time.   Being able to legally have a beer or glass of wine with a meal is not without its attractions also, especially c
