Daily News reported that the governor of Samut Prakan province south east of the Thai capital Bangkok had admitted that they had run out of field hospital beds.

They have had to turn to the private sector to cope as 1,000 people are waiting for a bed.

Wanchai Khongkasem gave the latest figures for Covid infection in the province reporting 522 new infections Friday of which 413 were local with 173 in Muang district, ten in Bang Bo, 146 in Bang Plee, 21 in Phrapradaeng, 13 in Phra Samut Chedi and 50 in Bang Sao Thong.

Some 109 infections were brought in from outside.

There had been eight further deaths, seven women and one man.

There were now almost no field hospital beds and a waiting list of 1,000 people.

A real estate investment trust called WHA Premium Growth has stepped in to help with use of a godown or depot to act as a new field hospital.

This will be able to house 1,200 to 1,300 Covid patients.

I'm surprised... I was told some of these people had run away and 2 have ended up in the village next to where I stay. Apparently, allegedly, they were isolated in a rice field overnight by Or Sor Mor and shipped off to hospital when their tests came back positive.

If no one is left in Samut Prakan, how can they run out of beds?

That's very worrying news.

I can understand running out of the Soviet Era style government hospitals.

How can they run out of cardboard beds?

I hope I don't get COVID-19!

I can see people dying in the streets next week.
