I disagree. High C19 cases justifys authorities getting their fingers out and ordering adequate vaccinations pronto.

Not just ordering but receiving. Time to put the Thailand AZ vaccine facility under military control and ensuring no vaccines leave the country.

I think they are going to keep announcing waves until they get a variant called Thai variant . Had Brazilian , Kent , Indian etc so they want to join the team as usual !

Cant see **** but they want it ! ????

Ha, well from what I've read elsewhere the delta variant not only transmits faster it also mutates faster (minor categories). Perhaps it might get to the non-problematic variant faster too...be great, and appropriate, if it happened in Thailand ????

What is the survival rate for c19?

Was about 98%, but that includes numbers from early in the pandemic. With improved medical experience and a largely vaccinated population, it must be far better in recent times.

They've already had one. The UK  named it and then the Thais denied it saying it came from Egyptian military visitors.

Now the Lambda variant is the newest one to hit the world.

Most of the cases are being found around the construction sites where there is little or no precautions. The Gov't says that they can't close them down because of safety concerns but we all know that if they were unsafe at this stage of construction they shouldn't be being built at all.

They could shut down the sites having made sure that there are no loose items up high. With no workers on site there would be less risk of any injuries.

Clearly, there are too many big wigs who have a pecuniary interest in them being completed.

Another case of the few holding the rest of us to ransom.

Shut them down! It's a no-brainer!

Thailand: the only country in the world to have two Covid waves at the same time! Congratulations!

Another Hub for Thailand  to shout about.  They are still the number one of the Hubs of the world.

That is worrying...... I remember only recently wondering why Peru had such a starkly higher per capita death rate than any other country..... here we have a reason.

He pointed out that the Delta variant hastens the lung infection, resulting the patients being put on ventilators in just 3-5 days, compared to 7-10 days in the case of Alpha variant. If this situation is allowed to persist, he said that the need for more hospital beds will increase steadily until the entire Thai health system collapses.

But don't worry, everything's just fine, Phuket has made a few million Baht from the sandbox already, so what does it matter if the Thai healthcare system collapses? One of these days I fully expect to see Prayut and Anutin standing on the deck of HTMS Chakri Naruebet with a huge banner saying "Mission Accomplished".

You're going to have to send some of those troops to the UK and Europe because Astra Zeneca over there supplies the precursors to Siam Bioscience.

In case you hadn't noticed, this government was not democratically elected and its leader is a former general and coup-leader. In other words, it's a quasi-military government, ideal for its bigwigs to sell public property for private gain. Let's put the Siam Biosciences AZ facility under civilian control, then there might be less theft.

It's already too late to lockdown, most infected people have already went to other provinces.

You don't wait until a disaster becomes reality to lockdown. You should lockdown before the disaster happens.

It goes to show their incompetency.

So many experts on here it is unbelievable.

Foresight is a wonderful thing if available, failing that you would suggest permanent restrictions and be prepared for anything before it happens.

One has to assume that you believe the likes of Trump and Bojo were extremely competent when they initially shrugged off the pandemic.

Incompetency is rife among politicians worldwide, only xenophobes would consistently single out a particular nation.

At 100,000 a day, how many are likely to be hospitalised, get long covid or die?

Sajid Javid has warned that Covid cases could get as high as 100,000 cases a day this summer, as he admitted numbers will “rise significantly” after all remaining Covid restrictions are eased in a fortnight.

Well, so far, while cases have risen dramatically, hospitalizations and deaths have not. That's down to widespread vaccination.

Everyone just needs to get to the Phuket sandbox everything is good there just ask the PM who is in apparent self isolation because 1 of his bagmen tested positive for covid on there pat on the back get together for the big Sandbox opening, if things aren't bad enough now there is worse to come as a result of there incompetence, greed and Stupidity
