77-year-old Norwegian Knut H. lives in Pattaya, Thailand, and has still not received a covid-19 vaccine. He is part of a group of elderly Norwegians who are permanent residents of Thailand that hope that the Norwegian government will help them gain access to a vaccine.

Knut Hauslo is secretary of The Scandinavian Society Siam, who earlier this week in an open letter to Prime Minister Erna Solberg and the other prime ministers of the Nordic countries asked that the Nordic community in Thailand receive vaccine assistance.

In the letter, The Scandinavian Society Siam writes that the official vaccination program in Thailand does not include foreigners, neither the elderly nor those with underlying diseases unless they have a work permit.

Come on "Worgeordie", you have been around this forum, and this particular topic, long enough to know that it is pure luck, allied to where you are and the degree of xenophobia felt by whichever small handed uniformed individual happens to be in charge on the day, as to whether you can be registered or vaccinated.

Exactly, they've shown their true colours now and it's ugly.

I don't know what to say, I am certainly not lucky, never won anything in my life,

but lost plenty, I registered a few weeks ago, and received the jab, today, and

there were 100's of other people there  getting it too, why would they chose

Chiang Mai over Pattaya ,Ok before Phuket seemed to be getting it all.

might buy a lottery ticket tomorrow ,

take care worgeordie

This is what you had in Chiang Mai:

I live in Pattaya. We didn't have that.

The Norwegian appealing to his government lives in Pattaya. He is speaking the truth about the situation for expats in Pattaya!

Even every Norwegian can always travel they country and get they jab's. I understand its maybe hard if you dont have anything there anymore. Every expat have think good and bad things when have move to Thailand. But one thing what should never do is cut off conections in your country of origin. In this time we understand, fom there you maybe need something else than new passport.

Worg,

I wonder if they are going to give you the 2nd jab in Oct or will they think about the other 90% who have yet to get one?

I registered months ago on that website Chiang Mai wall and Chiang Mai to get my vaccine have not heard back from them I did get a digital number to use but as of yet no appointment date no hospital location TIT

seems like Norway could import salmon, but not a vaccine to Thailand

Wouldn't it be nice if all the Brits here wrote an open letter to Boris/Embassy complaining that not only do they withhold inflation rises in our state pension (13 years for me) but still have to pay tax in UK.

Appreciate different Provinces are being vaccinated with differing effort. We have seen special treatment for Phuket....then Samui, Bangkok and I believe I saw Chiang Mai being prioritized... probably as a Chinese tourist centre sandbox.  Pattaya isn't popular in political circles, we will get done after Nakhon Nowhere.

France brought in J&J.

Thailand: nothing is legal, everything can be arranged.

How many Norwegians here? 2,500, 5,000? Go one dose J&J and get it done.

That's a non story.

Are there any Expats , from any country that don't want their government to help them het a vaccine?

I got my free AstraZeneca vaccination yesterday in Rayong, just used my pink card

FWIW, in the UK, everyone, irrespective of race, colour, creed, sexual orientation, whether a legal or illegal immigrant, of just about every age group, has been vaccinated, no reams & reams of pointless paperwork, no special ID card, no special colour book, just turn up give name, age, any special health problems, get jabbed & told to come back for second jab on such & such a date.

Here, enter lucky draw, if lucky present yourself to the nearest superspreader event, mingle with 100's of other hopefuls, get a lucky jab and told to return at some point to get another jab of a doubtful vaccine.

One day they might get it right.

Wrote to 'my mp' saying this and she wrote back that I must confirm my UK address before she replies! Did write to Bozo but he said I must write to my mp!?!?!?Did write to embassy who said NHS can't vaccinate in Thailand. I think at all levels UK is brain dead! Or suffering long Covid!

Too busy spending money to pull Africans from dinghies in the Channel to be bothered about actual UK citizens abroad.

They showed their true colors in 2004. Remember Mr Samith?

They repeat showing every day.

And they realize that you can humiliate farang without end.  Farang don't mind.

Every bar girl knows this. And the government knows it, too.

you just went to Central last Thursday and got in queue with your pink id and they gave you a jab?

I tried to register in Pattaya -- I'm over 60 and asthmatic.

Was told a stern "No - only for Thais"

My Thai wife was able to registe - although no date could be given.

So impossible to even register in Pattaya, let alone actually get a vaccine.

But that could change whenever the big private hospitals get their own supplies...

I don't have a pink card whatever that is.

I have a passport filled with dozens of "very important" rubber stamps and visa stickers which can only be issued by an 'immigration god' who seems to live in the Chaeng Wattana government complex, he demands that everyone go to him right in the very heart of the Bangkok red zone regardless of where they reside in the country.
