snoop1130
Photo by Lillian SUWANRUMPHA / AFP A construction worker was found to be simultaneously infected by both the Alpha and Delta COVID-19 variants, while six others were infected with a hybrid strain of the two, according to Director-General of the Medical Sciences Department Dr. Supakit Sirilak today (Monday). Expressing shock by the finding, while reassuring the public the seven cases were not severe, Dr. Supakit said this is why it was necessary to seal worker housing facilities in and around Bangkok late last month. The cases remain, however, of concern and follow-up monitoring is needed, to prevent infections by two virus strains at the same time from spreading to the point that the combination of the strains in a single host result in a new variant. They've got this the wrong way round, its the bubble and seal that created the new variants! Reap what you sow, the inhumane bubble and seal were always designed to let the workers and migrants infect themselves until herd immunity was created, seems they are pretty successful at that. Seems they just as successful at unleashing new variants through co infection. Why oh why did they not think of that before, posters on here had been warning about it for months, not rocket science exactly! 8 1

chalawaan
It's interesting how this virus really seems to want to almost sabotage the nasty class and racially segregated attitudes here by forcing them to take care of these poor sods, or pay the price later in the wider community. I wonder if it will produce better leaders? I wonder if it will teach lessons on how not to run a "democracy"? I wonder if they will ever get a leader who will be serious about corruption and reform? I wonder if the vaccines will arrive before these milestones in modern statehood ever appear on the horizon?

rbkk
Infected with both Alpha and Beta varients reported on the same day on the other side of the world. "She added that while there had been “no other published cases” of similar co-infections, the “phenomenon is probably underestimated”. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/world/belgian-woman-died-covid-alpha-beta-variants-b945194.html A construction worker was found to be simultaneously infected by both the Alpha and Delta COVID-19 variants "...six others were infected with a hybrid strain of the two"...Soon to be called the "?" variant. It's hard keeping up.

Don't care if they all get infected. Don't care if they die. That's their level of thinking. Thais have a big problem with forward thinking and consequences. I said a couple of days ago the same thing might happen in the UK. 60,000 at Wembely yesterday and not a mask to be seen. Millions more I guess on the streets. It's madness. 7 1

But you are correct & it is the reason no vaccine for any covid virus was ever succesful Same as why they have no vaccine for HIV which mutates even quicker than Covid's But Companies like Pfizer are quite happy with the long term outlook for their boosters

Popular Post englishoak
There are 7 BILLION people on the planet, best get used to the idea of living with many many varients.... supply chains are already breaking down, economies are being decimated,QE and fake money creation wont fix it, vaccines wont "fix" it. There is no chance of containment, this was clear last year and no hiding no gov mandates or "extreme"measures are going to stop it in a modern, globally connected world, the waves will go on until it burns out thinking a face nappy and destroying livlihoods will do anything but delay the variant waves from crashing into a population at some point is futile ... so best get on with your life, stop the fussing and accept we are here for a short moment in time and then gone. Open up, expect to catch a variant and live your life well and do what you can to stay healthy... what will be will be 4 2

If we tracked every mutated flu and SARS virus variant and made dramatic press announcement we'd have a new press release every 5 minutes. The real issue is the capability of labs to perform genetic typing to highlight natural viral evolution, combined with the irrational media reporting - which creates fear and illogical, unscientific responses by governments who can't assess actual risks. Unfortunately for all other species on the planet, this pandemic has had almost no impact on human population growth. 3 1

The Virus mutates all the time in order to survive, and to become stronger. Some mutations will be less ' powerful " and others will mutate into something more Toxic, and more transmissible. There are probably many Thousands of Mutations in circulation right now, but only very few become ( as the WHO says ) " Variants of concern ", which as variants that have mutated to become more powerful and harmful to us Humans.

Before COVID most people never looked at death statistics, now people quote numbers without any context. About 60 million people die every year, and many of that 4 million would have died without COVID as they are in the vulnerable groups. COVID deaths numbers are not too different to deaths of children from common diarrhoea every year, but most people coolly dismissed those deaths. And around 150 million are born each year. Yes, any extra death of a close relative due to COVID is a tragedy for the close family, but so are deaths from suicide and starvation due to the economic impacts of panicky unscientific measures to try and control a pandemic with bureaucracy. The media never put the pandemic in perspective as it's not in their interest to do so. Edited July 14, 2021 by Kinnock 2 1

It takes severe measures to limit deaths to the 4 million so far. To the extent that certain people downplay the epidemic, the resolve to maintain those restrictions is weakened, as we have seen around the world. So, restrictions are lifted and more people die. You can peddle your “the epidemic is no big deal” later, when the epidemic has passed. But, for now, you are spewing misinformation that would help kill people if anyone took you seriously. 4

'You and others' are infected by media fear, breaking news, headlines, hard lockdowns and end of times scenarios. Provided by inept goverments, profit seeking media and big pharma. Us two infections shall not meet. Edited July 14, 2021 by MayBeNow 1 1 1

Also - when this pandemic is over, there will be another, then another. Just not so newsworthy and no daft Government measures. And now we have the technology to develop vaccines rapidly too.
