It's local discount, not charging anyone more. It happens in most Western countries too.

What a wonderful sense of humor!

You have no idea what you are talking about. Eagerly awaiting to see that law.

So are you going to rebuke your UK citizenship as you mentioned?

Plus anyone who lives in Thailand and isn't blind knows that there is a systemic two tier system for Thais and Foreigners. Many people can give you countless examples so trying to defend that is ridiculous.

I could have got 5k for life but chose the lump sum option as I wanted to buy Bitcoin.

You have just gone up in my estimation.????

Essential workers are foreigners. One meal a day should be plenty for them. Water? There's the hose...

Remember, this is the crowd considering a Wuhan lockdown, food to the door. Righto...

I think the reaction to the story itself tells you the whole story.

As of this post, 1 "Like", 59 "55555!" and 1 "Sad".

Good that only the most jaded can't have a good laugh at this one.

My memory is fine.  Bye bye.

Let me elaborate considering that I just inserted another person in my 'ignore' list.
I know a number of individuals who have successfully navigated the gauntlet to become Thai citizens and I applaud them.  I screwed up.  I had the chance but didn't understand it at the time. Too late now.
However.  Had I become a "citizen" I would have still been defined by my past, my heritage, my country of birth.  What does that mean?  Think about it.  I left the US 14+ years ago.  Do you think I left because I was happy with my country and was a patriot?
Hell - I was a veteran with significant service, but eye's wide open.  And a student of Geo-politics.  Why did I end up in Thailand?  Honestly - Religion.  Simple as that.  The US isn't a hot-bed of Theravada Buddhism.  But I've change over the last 14 years even after being a Song Pansa monk. What changed?  Life is constant change.  But - had I obtained citizenship I would not have become a anti-foreigner convert to the Thai nationality.  So when a foreigner turn "Thai Citizen" decides to go fully native and embrace not only culture but also the xenophobic BS?
You get on my "ignore" list.  I'm not getting in pissing matches with anyone anymore.
I appreciate intelligent discourse and differences of opinion.  But the day you tell me that Thai's are God's gift to the world and "just get over it?"  Then Bye bye.

Think the plot has been lost now.

Thanks. I tried to point that out earlier but it just falls on deaf ears. The Thai bashing whiners are up in arms because of the inaccurate headline translation. Ridiculous to be calling the man a liar when they haven't a clue what the story is really about.

They read what they want not what is actually written, then of course need to read past the headline which is challenging for many ????

of course it does not change how poorly Thais and government treats both , migrant workers and foreigners but this OP is NOT about us

It's a bit difficult to deny the Holocaust unless you walk around as a member of the flat earth society in your tinfoil hat!

Regards wrongdoing, the country didn't recognize it for years until they were shamed into it, much like the Japanese. They didn't feel they had done wrong and the wrong they felt was losing the war!

For years after, post-Nuremberg show trials, in Germany the courts that were appointed to prosecute Nazis in Germany under German law by Germans, found the people sitting in judgment, to be Nazis themselves or at least sympathetic towards the cause, and this led to many acquittals much to the anger and dismay of the USA and UK.

And my German neighbour complains about being racially discriminated !

Guys,

We definitely do know that Thailand does discriminate against all foreigners to varying degrees.

They look down on Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia. They tolerate the white faced foreigners only, every black person to them is either a drug dealer or involved in a romance scam, in a country that still calls black people Negroes!

They constantly blame everything from littering to the state of the nation on foreigners. They operate discriminate policies in tourist sites, two tier pricing and it is all the result of lousy education and a completely biased society not based on skills or education but on who you know and your family name.

Those allegedly in charge, that removed legitimate government are out of touch, cliquey, the government reeks of cronyism and the whole government is an uneducated basket case that refuses to listen to educated professionals.

Has anutin read the memo?

An abusive post has been reported and removed.

Lies Lies Lies, always lies.

No discrimination means also that the dual pricing has been abolished yea? Silly me must have missed that. ????

1 ready meal a day provided for migrant workers locked up....

Curios to know,

How many ready meal a day provided to Thai criminals in prison?

Equal? More?

( Dare to think not less than 1)...

So are these migrants workers treated equal to criminals? Worse?

( Dare to think with 1 meal a day not much better surely)

555, Oh my Buddah- "Thailand's Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin has assured the press that the policies of Thai PM Prayuth Chan-ocha and his deputy DMP Prawit Wongsuwon do not discriminate against foreigners in any way" Then Minister Suchart Chomklin, please explain why this goverment still allows and even defends "Dual Pricing" for non Thai? He can not use the excues that Farangs are dirty - thats's the health minster's line 555. He can't say farangs leave more trash as I have seen it it the locals that leave rubbish where they go, just look on the Sois, in fact I see Farangs picking up rubbish everywhere I go.

Hmmm.... I suggest he speaks with forked tongue

How many "farangs" have been to a vaccination site where they are refused because of "Thai only" ?  No discrimination, no.  Typical Thai bureaucracy with local rules and no oversight or negative consequences from higher authority. Sad state of affairs.  The goobamint doesn't have a good grip on the handlebars.

The minister said that his system for the health and well being of foreign workers was efficient, up to date and can be adjusted to the demands of the pandemic.

I thought something was being done to stem the flow of fake news?

Yeah, that's what you lot say when you need something from them dirty foreigners. Otherwise, foreigners are blamed for almost anything and everything - including why you didn't have your no. 2 this morning. Out with it now - what do you all want this time?

Government-sponsored two-tier pricing doesn't qualify as a "way," huh?

Nope not at all, as Mando the Mandalorian would say "This is the way"

I almost spit my drink into my keyboard when I read the headline.

My wife and I are two of them.

I'm remembering the first part of the pandemic when only Thais were allowed on public busses. Government was fine with that. Wat Pho barred non-Thais. Government was fine with that. The government did demand that a restaurant owner up North take down a sign he had put in the window that said "No Chinese." So, they sometimes don't support it.
