Has anyone here ever used their brain ask the question why the vaxes are FREE all over the world? Have Farangs in the entire history of Thailand ever been given  FREE medical anything EVER on a large scale........No not ever........I bet not a single poster here has ever received any medical thing in Thailand FREE before...

Maybe there is more to all this Freeness....

I guess you’d feel more at ease if they charged you, and feel even better if they charged you twice.

O My Good we are doomed……….

Actually YES have had free flu jabs a few times. However the last three or four years have had to pay.

There is a vaccine, it's called "universal income". Unfortunately, some people have an allergic reaction to that. It causes uncontrollable knee jerks and vocal outbursts which are difficult to understand but sound a bit like "free stuff".

A Universal Income is would be a good topic. With the covid dollars being handed out like candy in the US it's only time.

Open a thread, I'd like a discussion about that. hint: It's popular among republicans too so not necessarily politically charged.

It sounds pretty political and it sounds like it's not Thailand-related.  I'd suggest against it.

Yes, because if people had to pay for it it would be harder to get to the 70% they want. They want to open the country up. So yes your right they have ulterior motives, unfortunately not the ones you think they are.

In my country vaccines are always free as they are in many other European countries. So instead of thinking so badly about this. Maybe its the right way to go.

hello, so is there anybody who will like to vaccinate but still cannot ?

it's so funny how the speech of most retarded people in charge around the world changed: it is simply impossible to force everybody to vaccine, and as you see, 60% or 70% people vaccinated (maximum that they can reach everywhere it seems?), it's enough to let the unvaccinated live their life ! So why trying to force them when you know actually nothing and just repeat what stupid scientists that I wouldn't even trust if I have a cancer keep repeating ?!

False. Many countries have over 70% of their population vaccinated. What's more, the percentage of those eligible for vaccination who have been vaccinated is much higher since children have been mostly excluded. In the USA 76.6% of adults have been vaccinated.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/covid-19-vaccine-doses.html

If understanding this basic fact means that one is "retarded" I'll take that over whatever mental condition it is that leads some to believe otherwise.

He has the strange idea that the calculation should match the graph of Thailand 100%.

Totally crazy of course given that the delta variant did not take the alpha one at once (so that muddies things up)

The fact that we don't really know the real number of infections because of limited testing (so can't compare)

Actions taken by government can also influence the spread.

Its impossible to have the graphs match as calculations and real word will always be different I gave a few reasons but there are many more. He just does not seem to get stuff like that.

The bottom line is that equations such as y=2^x, y=3^x, y=e^x, etc, cannot be dirextly applied to any real life situation as it requires every potential person to be available to be infected, and each has the same chance of infection - that also mean no masks alloe, no sociail distancign etc. That is why practically no graph from any country shows rapid exponential increase (perhaps only over linited time spans, in some cases).

Of course i get that most intelligent people get that but that guy did not. No simple formula will ever simulate the real world.

Actually, current data suggests that antibody and t-cell immunity are more wide reaching and longer lasting than the protection provided from vaccination.

Check:

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.08.24.21262415v1

The question is, why has natural immunity been overlooked and is not tested for before the mass rollout of vaccines.

Given that most positive cases are asymptomatic, and the virus has been circulating in the community for some time, it's highly probable that natural antibodies and t-cell immunity will already exist in our communities.

Actually, this natural immunity fallacy has been around a long time: Great Barrington Declaration. Too many people were dying before vaccines were available. There is a huge contrast between states in the US where vaccine hesitancy is high and states with 60% or more of adults vaccinated. This shows pretty conclusively that vaccination is necessary. Natural immunity wanes and may not stand up to new variants.

One good thing is that people who have had Covid and are then vaccinated, with even only a single jab, have incredible immunity, far surpassing a double jab in those who have not had Covid.

You are completely correct. However, it does reduce the likelihood of infection by 90% and the likelihood of death by an even larger factor.

No, that is actually not the case. Vaccines only stop the likelihood of infection by 49% in the case of the Delta variant.

"The researchers estimated that two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine are 49% effective at preventing infection with the delta variant, in line with recent data from Israel and much lower than previous estimates."

49% is better than nothing! Plus, it helps keep you from dying or ending up in ICU with a tube jammed down your throat.

Crazy times!

Does a person who has contacted Covid, has recuperated not more bullet proof than someone who took the Vaccine. And if that is true why should that person be forced to take a vaccine.

That's right. A recent study has shown that those who got Covid were immune for longer than those who got the best vaccines.

Of course nobody should be forced to take the vaccine, and if anyone does not want to do so they should be free not to take the vaccine. Particularly in light of the fact that the creator of the Astra-Zeneca vaccine herself has just come out with the prediction that the virus will just cause a common cold going forward.

"These other coronavirus are causes of the common cold and Gilbert said: “Eventually Sars-CoV-2 will become one of those."

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/covid-19-will-just-end-up-causing-a-cold-says-oxford-vaccine-creator-sarah-gilbert-npkds93zd

"Conclusions This study demonstrated that natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced immunity."

True if you don't travel, but starting Nov you can't enter US without vac certs. So if you suffered through covid, survived, you still have to take the jab if you want to travel.

Professor Dame Sarah Gilbert, the creator of the Astra Zeneca vaccine, has said Covid is unlikely to mutate into a much deadlier variant and will eventually just cause the common cold.

Speaking at a Royal Society of Medicine seminar, the scientist said viruses tend to 'become less virulent as they circulate' through the population and there was 'no reason' to think we will have a more virulent version of Sars-CoV-2.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/covid-19-will-just-end-up-causing-a-cold-says-oxford-vaccine-creator-sarah-gilbert-npkds93zd

So to summarise:

1. The vaccines only prevent infection by 49% in the case of the Delta variant

2. Natural immunity is superior, ie longer lasting, than vaccine immunity

3. The creator of the Astra-Zeneca vaccine says the virus will just be like a common cold.

Looks like everyone that got vaccinated made a mistake and those that did not get vaccinated got it right.

To summarize:

1 Non vaccinated run the risk of needing hospitalization in order to survive

2. Vaccinated or not we will all catch the disease and those that recover will have immunity from future infection.

3. Vaccinated or not all can transmit to others

That is indeed the case with the US now, however, if you do not travel to the US, say you travel to the UK instead, or to Thailand, then vaccination is not required to travel.

You will however have to show tests and comply with quarantine, though you can travel to the UK and Thailand if you are not vaccinated.

Confirmed

+13,256
Deaths
15,884
+131
Recovered
1,380,362
These are the stats for Thailand, 1.38 million people recovered, They shouldn't need any vaccine.

As for your point 1 above the Lancet has found:

"The majority of those who test positive for COVID-19 will survive the disease and the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) states that, based on available data, approximately 80% of those who test positive for COVID-19 experience a mild illness or are asymptomatic."

Their figure for hospitalisation was 14.8%, with only 2.2% going to the ICU.

https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanepe/article/PIIS2666-7762(21)00074-0/fulltext

We should also remember that only 2.9 % of the world population is infected with the virus at all, so hospitalisation figures need to be extrapolated on that basis.
