Thai Soaps

Featured Replies

The soap I buy from our local Villa supermarket is usually pretty good. I think a lot of it is imported though rather than being specifically Thai-made soap.

Always thought UK soaps were drivel..................... then I came to Thailand eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!!!!!!! Is there a ghost in all Thai plots??? Still as comedies go they're very good, I just love the over acting!!

The soap is fine here. Just scrub a little harder if necessary.

Sukanya, you are a very crazy mouse...but dead on about the overacting.

Does it sing?

My wife sat laughing at Coronation Street, all the way through.

I sit almost in tears if I am subjected to the Thai ones. Actually the Korean ones on Thai tv are better but still painful.

I don’t really watch the thai soaps that much, even though I’m a thai....too pitiful most of the times

And I agreed the Korean ones are waaays much better, and my favorite has to be “my girl” w/ eng sub – hilarious freaking funny - watched it 6 times already! Neerenam, we should have a popcorn night or a pajama party sometimes :o

Tell me where and when :D

Funny(humorous) thread.

Some thought "soap" mean hygiene item.

others thought television dramas.

Thai Soap: dont know, I use Irish Spring....must be from memories of the ad with the guy cutting the soap with a knife

Thai Soap: Horrendously bad. So bad that I swear at the tv eventhough I cant understand the dialogue. So bad that I have to walk away.

Soap operas in the UK are pretty crap, but at least the acting is normaly OK and the actors have been to stage school rather than qualifying by having a farang father giving you the marketable luuk kreung look.

I used to laugh at the thai soaps but now they are just annoying.

The most annoying part is those stupid sound effects.

Yes, there is absolutely no reason to have a cow mooing when they're in the middle of The Emporium.
