at this time you need to be a registered patient at BHP in order to get vaccinated.....until 31.08. already fully booked for AZ

there are strong rumours that from 16.08.2021 onwards all foreigners living in Thailand can register via https://expatvac.consular.go.th/

and choose hospital (including BHP, which now can't) and choose preferred vaccination as well......

Do you happen to be a BPH registered patient ?

Yes, I did  attend the hospital some 4 years ago for treatment as an out patient and I was able to find that receipt with patient number on it.

not possible to share that link to get a valid registration

Oh, I'm sorry.  I just checked it on my phone and it works and goes to the pre registration form. I guess an  email to the general e mail address of BHP will do, but the form on the link needs to be completed. ?

the form/link only works correctly once you got a personal invitation by the hospital via sms/email/in person etc. - at this time no appointments are done anymore....check the website and FB of BHP for further updates to come (if they can sort it out this time properly)

therefore the link https://expatvac.consular.go.th/  should be used from 16.08. - maybe a direct BHP link will follow if they hire (and pay) a proper IT specialist ????

I registered at this link about a week ago. Since then, I've heard from two people that you have to have BPH email the link to you first. They said they showed up and were denied a jab because BPH didn't send them the initial invitation. I'm trying to find out what the real deal is before my alleged appointment of 25 August.

Thanks for the heads up. I will make contact with BPH tomorrow to reconfirm my appointment, with jab due on 19th.

As stated before, this link was provided to some people as an SMS, and as such any reservation should be accompanied by that original SMS. That is how I understand the situation and would be happy to be corrected.

Please let us know....

Despite that I have heard of some guy getting a call from the BHP saying come get it late in the day.....and successfully doing so. They have made a mess of this with that half baked registration form.

I registered on that "expatvac" site 9 days ago. Was sent a confirmation and told to wait for an appointment to be sent by email which I would have 24 hours to acknowledge or it would be cancelled.

Still waiting.

Of note, I am also registered for a Moderna vaccine at a different hospital. Spoke to my doctor at BHP yesterday and he told me if I already had a jab of AZ, it would be better to get a jab of Moderna than to get the 2nd AZ jab. He said if I do get the Moderna, I wouldn't even need the 2nd AZ shot at all.

So fingers crossed the hospital in Chacheongsao actually gets the vaccine in October.

Went there this morning, both to the main building reception and the Building D reception. I showed the confirmation slip for the vaccination date / time and both said that showing my passport and the confirmation slip will be sufficient and that I should attend on the day noted. I mentioned the SMS issue, but that did not appear to be understood.

They were unable to directly confirm that the appointment was OK as, from what I could gather, they only receive details of the confirmed persons on the day. I have also emailed BHP but don't expect anything more substantial from that source.

I recall your earlier comment on the initial SMS / link. Presumably that's why the Pattaya News article (who had published the link for all to see), deleted it sometime afterwards. They made no mention that an initial SMS was needed as part of the process. Indeed, they, to my knowledge, did not admit that they had included the link in error, it was merely deleted.

Similarly BHP, if it is indeed the case that an SMS is needed, have not contacted those who appear not to have gone through the whole registration process. and advised that the appointment will not be fulfilled.. They must have that detail on their system.

I feel bad about this uncertainty and the part I may have played in causing worry on this major issue by passing on the link. Apologies to all for that.

For my part I am still hoping for the expatvac site to allow for another local option in the near future and I will also attend BHP on my appointment date (19th) unless it is clear that similar 'appointments' are not being fulfilled by BHP.

Your comment about the late notification on vaccine availability is also noted, no surprise that not all will turn up for their appointments. Maybe gives a further option.

My initial thought was not to bother even going.... but maybe I will, also 19th.

I never had an SMS.
But my appt was scheduled by one of the nurses in the Cardiology wing. She told me to show up on the following Tuesday and that was it. No email, no SMS.

Filled out the form when I got there. When I got upstairs the nurse doing the registration did (whatever) and copied my passport and sent me on the next station (blood pressure check) and then in to the jabbing room.

But maybe it's different if you've submitted the form online for some reason.

I get a sense that if you go there and plead, someone can get you booked in. A pity that it isn't made accessible to all. At least their registered patients....

My Mrs tried Banglamung yesterday, no luck, check Facebook or the website she was told... but I hear they have moved vaccinating back to the Stadium!

How many Expats that have in the past slanged off BKK hospital at every opportunity??  ..  are now going to that same establishment  cap in hand and begging or groveling to be Vaxx'ed..

Maybe out of principal  they should  be queuing up for the Sh*tovac   vaccine at the stadium or one of the cheaper government hospitals that they always praised so highly .

Why 16th August, this site has been taking registrations since last week?

I am with the OP.  Vaccine administered on 10th with no hassles at all.  Pretty orderly except for a small number of expats who would struggle with a paper bag (and then blame the locals).

I am an existing BHP patient, so have a BHP number - you need that to register, but the online form is simple to complete and I had an email reply with confirmation of date and time in minutes.  I never received an SMS and understand anecdotally that one is only sent if your appointment date/time is changed.  Showed confirmation (on my phone) to reception staff, was given additional form.  That and passport were all that were required.

Second jab 2 Nov all being well.

Congrats to BHP for a well organised and coordinated job.

Altjough currentyl not open for new registrations, those who are waiting may wish to bookmark and try each day:

My friend is a registered patient and just had an operation.

He applied for the vaccination and got a confirmation message for the 10th.

Showing up with his passport and they struggled for half an hour to find him on the list.

Whom to blame?

Why blame anyone?  Mistakes and errors happen.   Not everyone is perfect. They found his details and, presumably, he was vaccinated.  Why not celebrate the success of that?

Because we now live in a blame society  were it is always someone else's faulty ...  gone have the days when people took responsibility for there own lives .
