Irrelevant, no one asks for any doctors reports or even what your condition is and I did mention my age , it helps to read  and think before posting .

in addition , it helps to understand post is not about how under 60 gets vaccine

Deleted. Don't want to argue pointlessly.

Firstly , do not want to start any rumours or gossip , this is my opinion from an observation.

I was registered with Bangkok hospital for shots of AZ, but 2 days before had a choice of Pfizer.

Today had my shot and while waiting the 30 mins started reading all the papers I had.

1 paper had the sticker with batch number, serial number and exp date.

Exp date was 21 September, Ie next month.

So I think the reason why Pfizer became so available is because the expire date. Did US donate vaccine with short shelve life? I am inclined to think so.

Saying that, it worked out well for me, I am happy and I am under 60.

If anyone interested , no side effects  per say but feeling spaced out about 1-2 hours after the shot, hard to concentrate but other than that, nothing  at all

You may be onto something.  Once the Pfizer vaccine is taken out of deep freeze the clock starts ticking.  So the US may have donated a vaccine with a long shelf life, but if Thailand could only store it at a higher temperature, it would expire at some point. https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-brief-fda-authorizes-longer-time-refrigerator-storage-thawed-pfizer-biontech-covid-19-vaccine

If you check after the vaccine is taken out of ultra cold storage  and is refrigerated it expires in 1 month.  Once it is diluted for injections it can be kept at room temperature for 6 hours.

So the expiration date you saw is probably normal.

Maybe you right , I did not even think about that

Presumably you have one of the qualifying underlying conditions then. Would have been helpful if you posted that in the OP rather thank confusing the issue by mentioning you're under 60.

Of course this is an assumption on my part. Apologies in advance if indeed you have no qualifying conditions.

Medpark told me by phone yesterday that the Expatvac system has been rolled into Intervac, and they have been instructed to start taking foreigners under age 60 who registed under Expatvac in early Aug, whether or not they have qualifying conditions.  I'm not sure how much under age 60, however.

Let’s try again as you clearly struggling , post is not about how under 60 gets vaccinated . Try turning on your brain before speaking again

Then why mention your age? You could have stated in a single line that you think foreigners are getting vaccinated because the vaccines might expire. Simple, succinct, no? Congratulation, in any case.

For me, yes, I think foreigners are getting vaccinated with Pfizer because they may expire as they've been taken out of deep freeze (big rush now, as if first Pfizer dose is given now, the Pfizer 2d dose is in 3 weeks - mid Sep, so must have time to line that up before 2d dose expieres). And some foreigner vaccination levels have, at least until now, lagged far behind Thais -- oddly it seems especially Americans.  And foreigners may also come from countries which recognize Pfizer, but don't recognize some of the other vaccines on offer.

Third and final time for the challenged ones, post is not about how under 60 gets vaccinated.

I can see you are a few sandwiches short of a picnic to first question why I did not say my age to then troll why I mentioned my age.

take your problems to a specialist and have him give you some meds

“… few sandwiches short of a picnic”. First time I read that one …I like it!

Foreigners under 60 should not get the vaccine b/f the over 60 crowd…

Now you have foreigners who have gotten their 2 shots of Sinovac and or Zeneca trying to get a third shot of pfizer b/f many over 60 foreigners haven’t gotten their first pfizer shot

what a sad commentary on human selfishness - pathetic.

you cannot get a pfizer shot if you have had any other covid vaccine at this time

If it was so freely available they would have given it to Thai as well , but they are just giving it to foreigners(ok maybe to elite Thai as well but the websites and registrations we are getting it thru , only foreigners). So it's not as freely available as you think . I am happy that i got it and that my second shot also will be pfizer but a bit confused that the normal masses in Thailand are being vaxxed with mix and match shots and that we get the good stuff . Normally they aren't so found of us hence double pricing and Mr A calling us dirty(ok maybe if we had to pay for it would make it understandable but it's free of charge)

My 52 yr old Thai wife, of 10 years, registered at the same time as I did, roughly 4-6 weeks ago. We both requested for the Pfizer. At that time she was told that she could not get a shot because she was not a foreigner. My first jab is scheduled for this Friday in BKK (we live in Kanchanaburi). No problem, I'll be there. Yesterday my wife received an SMS from the hospital that she was scheduled for a Pfizer jab on the 29th in BKK. She contacted the hospital & now we are both getting our first jabs this Friday in BKK. So your bit about 'only foreigners' couldn't be more incorrect.

Yup, same sticker, Bangkok Pattaya hospital

OK, now I'm confused.

Sticker posted says expiration is November 30, 2021.

Yet, you mention September 21, 2021 in your OP.

Generally, I think any expiration is associated with a month and a year, so through  the end of that month.

The September 21 date which you "saw" could have been some internal local hospital date, and could mean anything.

I think your "mark-down" premise is flawed.

can not, because they take it as you are leaving

Well i am under 60 ????

did not even have to beg or ask, they just made an offer which one i wanted

And do not get me wrong i am happy, and expiry next month does not bother me, but makes sense why its so freely available.

They must attach the label to the certificate they give you telling you when to go back for your second shot. It shows the expiry date.

@mtls2005 Another thing, not sure if any meaning behind it, but upon arrival they asked me how old i was, and i am just over 40, her reply was something along the lines of yes over 40 can have Pfizer.

Make of it what you will.

Also just to put some at ease, everyone waits for 30 mins after the shot in a big hall, in that time i did not see anyone feeling sick or asking for any help or having any signs of anything.

Well organized, English spoken, friendly, of course a number of "gentleman" felt the need to bring their skirt with them and even talk to the nurses for them. no idea why when all nurses spoke clear English.

I wonder if they need a skirt to go to 7-11 with them as well

Is 'skirt' some sort of knuckledraggers' way of describing a woman?

I notice you say you are just 40. maybe when,or if, you get to be over 60 you may need someone to help YOU. I noticed quite a few people in wheelchairs, are they supposed to leave their helpers in  the car? You seem to have a very selfish and opinionated attitude, hopefully this will change as you get older and find yourself a "bit of skirt"

Where did you register because the latest opportunity here in Pattaya is strictly for foreigners?

I'm curious how you even managed to register being their website only accepted people over 60 or with the 7 underlying conditions.

They now accept over 40 at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. Register by 27/8.

A word of caution. A mate of mine who had 2 shots of Sinovac signed up for a free Pfizer in Pattaya as a booster. Got rumbled. They check before they give it, but they wait til the very last stage of the process before actually giving you the shot. They knew where, what and when he got his previous. So, som nam na to the lying low life scumbag haha!

do not follow you, today was first, next is on 14th

first shots closed on 29, so they be getting their second on 19t-20th

Expiry is 21st

could even be they use another batch by then , it does not mean all dose have same expiring date ....., same as you can buy in a Tesco or 7/11 or Big c example 4 sandwich spread with some different expiring dates , as long not over all is O.K.

A Production is not on 1 & same day

I would be more worried when they start playing with stretching the timing in between in contradiction with the directions from producer  as a solution for a shortness in supply and keeping up politic promises like with AZ in U.K.

Can you share this?

This was Pfizer?

Pfizer is good for 30 days after thawing.

Pfizer arrived ~ 30 July.

Imagine the logistics, management and thawing was done under some schedule? (Maybe not?)

So maybe your vaccine was thawed shortly after arrival in Thailand?

Hopefully your second dose comes soon?

There is an obvious shortage of AZ, not enough for second doses.

So if first dosers can be encouraged to take Pfizer, which may be on hand, then all the better.

So my "opinion" is that the offer of Pfizer is tied more to the unavailability of AZ, than expiring stocks?

Do not think so, it’s still within expiry date and we having similar side effects . If it was off, we would not get any side effects at all. ????

The US, in granting the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine full regulatory approval yesterday, it also extended the shelf life from 6 to 9 months.

thanks for that very useful link ,which explains the storage possibility as many think Pfizer need a continues -90 degrees , which is NOT so

Help you what open your mouth and ears because you incapable of doing so yourself?

Help with what? giving nurse your passport and confirming your choice of vaccine?

How about growing up by the age of 60 and instead of being incapable little boys, doing things yourself?
