Popular Post Jonathan Fairfield
Thitisan Utthanaphon, nicknamed ‘Jo Ferrari’, pictured in a green t-shirt Following conflicting reports during most of Thursday afternoon, police have now finally confirmed the arrest of fugitive Pol Col Thitisan Utthanaphon, nicknamed ‘Jo Ferrari’. He reportedly surrendered to a search team across the border in Myanmar in Myawaddy, before being brought back to Mae Sot on Thursday afternoon. ‘Jo Ferrari’ is the officer wanted in connection with the torture and murder of a suspected drug dealer while in police custody. Earlier this week, a leaked video showed ‘Jo Ferrari’ and other officers suffocating the suspect by placing plastic bags over his head in an alleged extortion effort. Investigations into the incident found that ‘Jo Ferrari' owns no less than 29 cars, many of which are luxury sport cars, despite officially only earning a salary of 43,000 baht per month. Police chief Gen Suwat Jangyodsuk was due to hold a press conference about the arrest at 9pm on Thursday. This is a developing story, this post may be updated without warning. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-08-26 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 11

How can you expect to maintain an honest police force and justice in these conditions? The plastic bag killer alone tracked down and seized the 368 cars? 400 million for him alone and no other policeman got anything from the cake? That stinks. 12

Popular Post JonnyF
Let the negotiations begin. A few land transfers here, a few offshore accounts there, before you know it Jo Ferrari gets a death sentence which is subsequently reduced to 18 months in jail (suspended for one year for confessing and previous good character) and a 2000 Baht fine. Justice. Thai sty. 12

I no trust the customs office. If there really is 40% "finder's reward", then the temptation is huge for everyone involved. The customs house "loses 600 supercars" and a friend finds the cars again. In the end, legal money for everyone. Back in 2014, everyone was wondering how the customs office can "lose" 600 supercars. With the 40% that makes sense now.

They do provide commissions on siezures? That is never a good thing as it easily leads to over zealousness and improper things. Many court cases in the USA have happened where the cops just assumed the worst and confiscated things. People leaving Vegas for example have been stopped and cash siezed. Many months later the people had to sue to get the money back, but then signed non disclosures and promises to not sue in order t get the cash back, instead of being allowed to sue the police. And many more cases of confiscations of goods and property when people were innocent 7 1
