Retirement Extension - Sirindhorn , Ubon

Featured Replies

Going to the Sirindhorn, Ubon Ratchathani office next week to apply for an extension.  My funds will be seasoned on September 19 and my Covid extension expires on September 27. This was an extension to my retirement visa that expired on August 1.

Can I apply before the funds are seasoned because they will be seasoned before visa expires?  Logic would tell me no because I won't be able to provide the 2 month 800k requirement.  The friendly boss at the office told me to come in mid September but not sure of his intensions.  Maybe he just wants to look at the deposit bank info and tell me the next steps.  He seemed to want to help and also seemed to be OK with just an updated bank book showing the current balance.  Hard for me to obtain Bangkok bank letters and statements from where I'm living at the moment( Khong Chiam/ Chom Mek area).

Am I wasting my time with a visit to this office with all the required docs with the exception of my bank's certified statement letter which will be replaced with an updated Bangkok bank book?

They will not accept you application for the extension of stay if the 800k baht is not in the bank for 2 months.

You can do it on the day it has been in the bank for 2 months.

You will need a letter from the bank confirming your account and the balance on the day it is written. They will accept one done the day before you apply. You will need to have your bank book updated on that day.

That is what I figured. Thanks! Also, can I go to the Ubon city office even though I did my covid extension at the Sirandhorn office?

This Friday, Sept 17,  will have been 60 days since my deposit on July 19.  Is it days or calendar months?

I will be in making the drive to Ubon to buy building supplies and would like to also apply for my visa at the same time and not have to make another 3 hour trip.

The rules state 2 months not 60 days.

Two months will be on the 19th.
