Don't all countries do this? How else can you force somebody to leave? "Yes you must leave the country now, please purchase a plane ticket at your convenience..."?

Welcome to the danish way of thinking.Denmark, always numero uno, the pinnacle of human achievement.

They pay actually lot more.Lately, they didn't want some of the afghans, who worked for/with the Danish Army (which, of course, is the best in the world) and payed the brits to take them.

Not everyone is welcomed in the world's happiest nation.

Danish prisons for women are more like cheap hotels in Thailand, not much of a punishment. They should follow what Thai immigration does- leave her there until she pays her own fare back home. The woman is another beneficiary of soft treatment that will not deter future over stayers.

if it's like a cheap hotel, leaving her there  longer would be even more of a reward then,, in fact many would want to solve their housing issues by turning themselves in after a sufficient overstay time. LOL

I have a friend who was paid 500,000 baht to leave Denmark with his Thai wife.

I think 30 days in prison is sufficient punisher for the infraction. What do you propose? Life. or the death penalty?

In Thailand the fine for overstay  is 500 Baht per day, reaching a maximum fine of 20,000 Baht

Danish prisons are a walk in a park ( not that she deserves it as being banned from entering Schengen and most certainly the rest of Europe is bad enough )

Wonder if she worked happily and voluntarily or was forced into the life as a massage prostitute. If the later then no wonder she is happy to return home. If the first then well hopefully she made some serious cash to return with.

Quite a nice point of view and I admit that it did not spring to mind. Thanks
