Flooding affects more than 200,000 metres of roads in Banteay Meanchey

More than 200,000 metres of 541 roads in Banteay Meanchey province have been hard hit by flash floods but no death toll has been reported.

 

According to a National Committee for Disaster Management report obtained by Khmer Times today, flooding has affected at least 124 roads in Serei Saophorn city,122 roads in Poipet city, 145 in O’Chrov district, 42 in Phnom Srok district, 63 in Mongkul Borei district, and 45 in Malai district.

 

The flood has affected 25,223 hectares of rice fields, 222 hectares of potato, and 79 hectares of other crops, the report said. NCDM spokesman Khun Sokha said, “Banteay Meanchey province has been severely affected by flash flood this year, but fortunately no one gets injured or died of flash flood.”
