I would now be expecting Thailand to dump the Sandbox style rules for UK travellers and treating visitors exactly the same as UK Green

I would imagine some reciprocal deal has been done already. Hope so anyways.

Time to visit me old Mum asap, then. Before the "climate emergency" lockdowns start.

So the UK no longer requires Visas for Thai visitors either.....?

I'm in no way a "climate change denier", but I'm expecting some pretty strong evidence to come from this whole covid thing.  There should be some sort of "due to the reduced CO2 emissions during covid, we can see that the Earth's warming was halted/reduced to X over the two year period" type info coming out.

It is relating to someone expecting reciprocity.

Yeah Thais won't need to sit in a box or treated like sh_t they would be welcomed by a smiling polite brit as my wife was way back when she first came to Uk

Thailand removed from the red list ? not according to this UK gov; link , still have to take a test 72 hours before you leave Thailand and also book another pcr test on day 2 after arrival in the UK  and fill in a passenger locator form . Not quite back to normal yet . Pre- warning , there will be delays and queues at the UK immigration zones in the airports . Get your paperwork in order for UK Border agency inspection.

Well good news for those who did not want to travel back having to pay the £2000 plus

Whats needed now is for Thailand to get rid of the Covid-19  quarantine restrictions so tourists can travel to Thailand over the Christmas period

Plus restaurants  serving alcohol

It makes no difference for me I left the uk 25 years ago but I think lots of people have been waiting for this and lots will leave Thailand this will mean a lot  less money being spent in Thailand and we all know the thai they like it when we spend so as soon as the realise theres even  less money going around  things will change quicker and they will open the bars less quarantine less curfews all a little late but I think they will forget about covid and the deaths and start opening up

BREAKING

TAT could announce soon that they expect 79,000,000 horny British billionaires to come and save the country.

Sukhumvit Viagra sellers setting up new sales shops every 100m.

6000 buses sent to Isaan to pick up the girls of the night because soon, they will be busy as never before.

I bet theres more truth in that then you think. With everyone waiting tickets in hand for Thailand to put the uk on the  green list. But I think it's more nana and asok now for viagra the sukhumvit stuff is out of date

If you own a home a in Thailand in any sandbox location, you should be allowed to return to it and still take the tests and not be shoe horned/manipulated into some Hotel Association quarantine for 7 days as a way of generating their incremental revenue. This does little to support investment in the country in the property (or yachting) sector.

If you are double vaccinated with Astra of Pfizer or Moderna 14 days prior to travel, looks like no restrictions other than lateral flow test day 2 of return.

No pre flight PCR test ,  or day 2 or day 8 PCR tests, not sure about passenger locator form.

Travel Update: 47 countries and territories removed from red list - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Could be ive read it wrong in my excitement to be able to return to my country if required without ludicrous hoops and expense.

Thanks Sapson  , Tis all confusing with , if you are this and that and if you travel now or later etc etc  but I think you are not quite correct when you say " no restrictions other than a lateral flow test on day 2 " cos that comes in at the end of October , please read attached link for your opinion

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday covid infections and deaths in Thailand were 11,200 and 113 respectively and we on red list. Just a day after, cases were 11,340 and 116 deaths and we cleared from the red list. What change? Just bowing to economic pressures like all countries.

Yep your right they are holding a couple of weeks for the change to a lateral flow test antigen day 2

so at the moment if you fly in 5 days etc its a day 2 pcr.

The pack up and go return to a freezing cold Uk is stressful enough but this is a massive boost to be able to book a flight and go if you need to get out of here in a hurry.

Great news like the door is no longer locked ......

Not so fast...According to DM today!

However, the new UK rules don't necessarily mean British won't face restrictions in their holiday destination.

Non-Thai passengers from the UK and Ireland are still required to undergo a 7-10 quarantine at an approved facility in the country after arriving.

The quarantine is seven days if full
