FIM Helmet Homologation

Featured Replies

Only a handful of helmets meet this new standard. Phase 1 out there, they are working on Phase two, and you can bet your boots Phase 3-4-5 etc will follow.

Snell objected - FIM replied "Your testing methods are from 1972. Drag your butt into the 21st century"

And a 10K THB LS2 rated as high as a 46K THB AGV according to Sharp

In Thailand the best ever inexpensive helmet I have found is the H2C, it's quiet, comfortable and surprisingly light.

Full face, wide opening, Built in Sun visor. ????

I bought a Shark City Cruiser, good helmet for 6,500 baht, open face but with chin guard

I'm currently using a Shark X-Drak. Fit is good but I don't use the flimsy chin guard as I am not ex- S.W.A.T.

The link to the FIM homologation standard from OP is broken, here is the correct one to the list of FIM approved helmets: http://www.frhp.org/circuit-helmets/homologated-helmets

Note that the FIM homologation standard is for racing so a whole range of helmet types will never be approved by FIM. One should also keep an eye on ECE standards.
