Thai people are not stupid, most know this is not the time to open the gates to let hordes of tourist in. They know the vaccines that were given to them were of low standard two doses of Chinese or Chinese than AZ. and still many Thais have not been vaccinate. What's the rush, a safer Thailand is a better Thailand for all.

"Thai people are not stupid,"  How long have you lived here? They don't have an IQ of around 90 for nothing.

Their chief worry should be having a super low end health minister with no experience, who has spent years demonstrating he is in way over his head, and the availability of only lower quality vaccines.

The Thais are the Zombies in the room now. The small nunber of foreigners who will come, do not pose a threat to them. On the contrary. It is the foreign tourist who would be taking ALL the risk.

Stop the panic mongering. Behave like adults.

I am quite afraid that as long as the current lot are in control, the pandemic will never be "well and truly over".

True. It is in Phrayut's own interests to exert control on the people, and deter foreigners from travelling to Thailand.

But for every intelligent, worldly Thai person, there are several who are not.

Yep. Guaranteed.

And any such random poll that survey perhaps 4000 folks [all in BKK] doesn't even come close to "most".

The people are ready, unless you consider a small group of "leaders" as your overlord.

I hope you aren't the type who just waits for daddy govt to tell you what to do and how to think,

It's called rhetoric. Maybe you didn't learn that at school.
