Also, if airlines have given back 80% of their allotted slots at Suvarnabhumi for the Oct-April'22 period, bookings are likely to be at a minimum. The ones who long planned to come will come, but that's about it. It is highly likely the average visitor is going to be a single male, as such folks have specific reasons for wanting to come, are willing to jump through the various hoops, and as single travelers are less likely to be caught up in a 'proximity' infection and forced into 14 days self-paid quarantine. All are maybe not quite the 'quality' tourist the govt was hoping to attract, but beggars can't be choosers. That's a good point! The steakhouse which was a steakhouse for no more than 3 years but BEFORE that was a famous a-gogo. It has since reverted back to being an a-gogo but kept the steakhouse licence. Example: 11 am till to 2 pm one can buy alcohol, 2 pm to 5 pm one cannot, 5 pm to .....one can buy alcohol. Getting a 'restaurant license' is as simple as filling out a form at the local government office and paying the fee which as far as I'm aware is about 600 Baht. They will then come out and do an inspection at some point in the future. The alcohol license is completely separate from a restaurant license and is also normally a mere formality to obtain. I have read on this forum that they're not going to renew alcohol licenses in Pattaya when they all expire on December 31. Not sure how accurate this is but it's definitely on this forum somewhere.
