MrJ2U
I don't think they have much vaccines on order either. 30 million pfeizer vaccines won't even cover 20% of the booster shots they need now. All this "cheap charlie" way of ordering vaccines is biting them in the rear ....Yet they keep saying how great there doing. Jaw dropping incompetence! 1

Popular Post garyk
I came into Colombia when the numbers were exploding. Now! they have dropped like a rock. And Colombia is wide open. Bars, anything you want. Hopefully Thailand will follow suit. As far as quarantine and insurance goes, I won't be coming in until all that nonsense stops. Then I may. Coming to Thailand as it is now is like installing beta or pre-alpha software on your computer and then complaining that "it doesn't work". Better sit back home and watch quietly the story unfold before your very eyes, let the early adopters and "beta" testers do the testing for you, ironing out the bugs and then see how that goes for them first before eventually taking the plunge. I pity the fools trying to return to the Kingdom right now, I really do.

The Chinese are banned from travelling, Thailand won't accept any Indians or Russians, the Aussies have hiden away from the world, who does that leave? That leaves the 26 EU countries, we're back to early 2000's era. Most of us are vaxxed (I'm not) as such we are barely recovering (apart from the British idiots, but they are a different can of worms). The main issue is the Thais have their heads so far deep in the sand, they are not seeing the bigger picture; we, Europeans just went through a full year and half of mixed quarantine period, economic losses & turndowns and such, in which millions of jobs have been destroyed, we're low on cash and holidays (specially to Thailand) cost money. We, European citizens are barely starting to recover from this economic recession, lots of unpaid bills left to pay (besides the cost of electricity/power/gas just went through the roof) yet the Thais expect us to pull the funds to travel to the Kingdom for leisure reasons? Where are we supposed to get the money from? From our buttocks? Not happening for another year. At the very least. And then you eventually fly into the Kingdom, book an ASQ, SHA+, jump through all the hoops only to be met with a Kingdom being turned into a police ran totalitarian state where you must be tracked 24/7, with a ban on booze, with no bars, no girls, no nightlife and the looming risks of curfews being reinstated left and right at any whim? No thanks. I'll pass for now! Edited October 30, 2021 by NanaSomchai 3

Plus if they are VAXXED, they can't catch or spread covid right? Trust The Science. I don't see the sarcasm switch /s Because no, it's not correct at all. Please scroll up a few posts and have a look at the Bloomberg link that I had posted. It is now a thorough and common knowledge that the vaccine does little or nothing to protect you against covid. The issue is not necessarily those few that might enter the country with covid. Rather, it's all the covid-19 present in Thailand and the tourists that will be swirling about the country. If I might make a current analogy. Before we had trillions of dollars being injected into the US economy. This did not bring inflation because there was low velocity. This has in large part changed. Prices are now inflated people pay more for everything so the velocity is far greater. Similarly, people will be traveling around the country quickly. Therefore, the opportunity to spread the virus rises exponentially. Edited October 30, 2021 by Chad3000
Popular Post richthai
Somewhat misleading report. As of 2 days ago (28 Oct) 42% of the entire population is fully vaccinated and 17% have 1 vaccination. One month ago these figures were 30% and 17%. Each day, +1% of the population is being vaccinated putting it at the top of the world for the past 2 weeks. The rollout to 12-17 year olds is moving ahead nicely. 103M jabs have been administered thus far. Thailand has made good progress in the last two months with plans to exceed 70% by mid December. The opening to tourists is focused primarily on the fully vaccinated. Given how the tourism industry has been decimated, moving ahead carefully at this time seems good for the people of Thailand. It's not without some risks, but many steps have been taken. 2
Popular Post Guderian
The fact is that every foreigner arriving here will be running the risk of having to pay for their own 10-day or 2-week state quarantine (so around 50K Baht at the minimum, as well as a ruined holiday) if they happen to test positive after arrival in Thailand, as their insurance policy is very unlikely to cover that cost. That inconvenient fact alone should be enough to deter most sensible people looking for a break in the sun from coming, never mind the other awkward fact that just about everything is still closed.

ICUs are full is becoming tiresome. A drunk couple yesterday fell down some stairs and died in Chiang Mai. Falling down stairs is as dangerous as Covid yesterday and all using them should be tested for blood alcohol levels. 4
