Currently waiting for a Mini Nest for upstairs and a load more light switches.

Google will soon be controlling most of my home.

 

My kid has been happily asking Google to make animal noises and tell him jokes.

Just found a new use.

OK Google, translate to Thai for me ............ then you speak in English, and the Nest speaks in Thai.

Spanish, French and Chinese also appear to work well.

Although I can't really judge the accuracy of Chinese.

 

I'm also working with 'routines'.

When I say OK Google goodnight, it switches off the downstairs lights and fans.

When I say OK Google it's dark, it switches on all the downstairs lights.

 

Countdown timers and reminders are useful as well.

OK Google set countdown timer 5 mins, stops me forgetting my boiled eggs.

OK Google set reminder on 20 Nov for Car Tax ......... I'm always forgetting my car tax.

Alexa does the same... Just tested it.
