Thailand’s Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court has sentenced a Thai employee of the “Paddy the Room” trading company to four years in prison. The firm allegedly exported about ten million pairs of used rubber medical gloves to the United States.

According to Deputy Spokesman for the Office of the Attorney-General Prayut Petchkun, the court found Pipatpon Homjanya and his employer guilty of producing and trading in substandard medical gloves and medical equipment and using the trademark of other companies without permission.

He said that public prosecutors had decided not to indict the company’s managing director, Taiwanese businessman Luk-fei Yang Yang, who faced similar charges because he has already fled Thailand.

Wow.  Export dirty rubber gloves and within days of the breaking story people involved get sentenced to four years in prison.

Run over and kill a cop with a speeding car on Sukhumvit and never see prosecution.

Why have they not issued arrest warrants locally and internationally for him?

Surely this has the protentional for it to be international alerts, how many infections did this enterprise cause?

Could the alleged involvement of a retired general have anything to do with it, possibly leading to a link further up the chain of command which they want to keep quiet?

Any Thailand export involves the Thai government. But no government officials are complicit?

Great, the big wig of “Paddy the Room” trading company (what a name) from Taiwan made a runner - case dropped. ONE single Thai got booked for four years in the slammer (most likely out in the next pardoning) and everyone else in the transaction ......... never existed?

It takes much more than Mr Pipaton to get that ship out of port. Interesting is, that he is facing the music soonest while the Red Bull kiddo still enjoys beautiful life despite having killed a police officer on duty.

So, to all those whiners of dual-pricing; do not expect any changes anytime soon - see above!

Ziskin also pointed to “a retired General living in Lopburi” as the mastermind behind the scam he dubbed “medical terrorism”.

The man who did the runner implicated a retired General as the mastermind of the scheme.

Retired generals and Thailand synonymous with government

So what government agency would be complicit?

Just saying "synonymous with government" is meaningless with regard to any specific government accountability. For example, I'd presuppose the Ministry of Health organization at some level might be part of any such conspiracy, even if paid to just "look the other way."
